That's a pretty weird/sad way to look at music, IMO. |

In my hometown, San Diego, there's a Radio Station that play Porcupine Tree everyday, is on the costum playlist, the good think is that the station plays only rock and metal, the bad thing is that the station is the most popular on San Diego. |
Actually, I think I just made that up...I've whored plenty of albums to my friends, including In Absentia.
lol I just read what I wrote... I wouldn't actually cringe if I heard them on the radio. I suppose it would be a good thing, b/c that would mean that PT would tour the US more often. (I just missed a concert of theirs a month ago) The thing is that I can hear Lazarus on adult contemporay, not the mainstream rock station. Fuck, I can't explain what I'm trying to say, so I shall leave it at this: I like Porcupine Tree. |
Our local college station plays Dredg, The Mars Volta (the made their own edit of L’ Via L’ Viaquez before TMV released a radio edit and the station still plays their own vesion), ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead and various other bands one might not expect.

I wanna radio station like that. When I'm sitting driving tractor for 10 hours straight(lol redneck) I get sick of hearing Nirvana and Metallica every single hour. It sucks extremely bad on two-for Tuesdays. :upset:

I have one radio station. It plays country music. JUST country music, consider yourself lucky. |

Jeez, where do you live? |
I live in Boston, where there are about three rock stations worth listening to. Still clearly better than all of the stations you guys have in your towns, from what I can gather.
|
My hometown Radio Station plays a lot Metallica and Nirvana, but they play other greats like Tool, Zeppelin,Anthrax, Mars Volta,RATM, the sundays they play a 2 hour show of Death metal, Black Metal, Grind and Power Metal, also they play underground stuff everyday at night and even they shot with glam rock and some beastie boys, cypress hill rap-rock stuff.

You avatar has inspired me to listen to Feel good Inc(live) |
Jeez, where do you live?
Small hick town in northern British Columbia called Burns Lake. My town apparently has the highest FAS per capita in BC, they did a documentary of it on TV. It was sad. There are about 3,000 people in the town and surrounding area. My school has 500 people in it. |

Radio around here actually isnt bad. Ive found about 4 stations that play music I listen to, which suites me fine since I cant drive yet and only listen to the radio during summer when I sit around my room all day. They mostly play bands "main hits", but sometimes they'll play a lesser known, but better song. Too many commercials though. |

YEah, we have a number of good stations here. The one I was talking about is commercial free too sicne it's college radio. There's another college station which plays more classic rock and hard rock mixed together and there's always NPR.
|
We have an alternative rock station (101.7 FNX), a classic rock station (100.7 WZLX), and the nebulously-phrased "rock of Boston" (104.1 WBCN) and all of them are worth listening to.
Also, I smoked a cig for the first time in months tonight  I didn't mean for it to happen, I just wanted to sit on my back steps and think for a little bit, and I still had most of a pack of smokes left...so I dunno. NP: Beck - Nobody's Fault But My Own |

I live near LA, where there are about zero rock stations worth listening to. I mean, occasionally I listen to the one really good classic rock station, but I was never big on classic rock in the first place. I just stick to CD's or the 3 rap stations here. |
We have a pretty good local metal radio show here. Even though they play a little too much metalcore type of stuff for my liking, the new Nile as the feature album couple of weeks back was awesome.
|
We have one metalshow that isn't nu-metal and it's on the siter station of the good College radio. Unfortunately, the sister station doesn't have a massive transmitter or whatever it's called so you have to be on campus to hear the show and the station shuts down for summer while the larger of the two does not.
Dammit. I need to finish my FA. It's due on Monday. Meh, I'm almost done but it looks weak compared to some of the other ones. |

Yeah, I've been rather intimidated by the length and quality of the previous ones. |

Who's it on? |
Emperor. I am starting to feel like there is nothing left to add but downloads. I didn't want to do a really detailed discography because that doesn't really matter and I did a super detailed line-up section but Christ! I can't make mine look half as meaty as any of Med's.

Well, Med is lightyears ahead of us when it comes to that sort of stuff. |
In Cleveland we have 2 decent stations, neither of them are good though. 92.3 Extreme Radio plays newer type metal like Breaking Benjamin, Chavelle, and some classics like Enter Sandman, Man in a Box. It has Rovers Morning Glory, which is this hilarious radio show on in the mornings.
Then there is 100.7 WMMS. It plays some good music, a lot of Metallica and Rage, some other good things too. Every Saturday from 11-12 they play only Metallica which is sweet. Yeah so the moral of all of this is that Cleveland radio isn't very good. |
I think I'm starting to luck out when it comes to radio stations. I guess that what happens when I live in a college town.
