I played Zaireeka by the Flaming Lips today. It was sorta hard to set up but it was beyong words in describing.

For those not faamiliar with the album, its 4 discs intended to be played on 4 different stereos at the same time.

MAthiAS 06-13-2006 02:10 PM

Wow man that sounds awesome.

I just got Broken Social Scene's s/t... Don't know if I should see them live. Its $30+, but I mean, its BSS!

Zappa 06-13-2006 02:27 PM

I downloaded a bunch of stuff dei said he liked. Scary World Theory by Lali Puna is an amazing warm little indie electronica album, and after two songs I'm really enjoying the analog dance pop sounds of Cansei de Ser Sexy.

I also listened to Taking The Rough With The Smooch by Huggy Bear, and wasn't particularly impressed. Mildly experimental hardcore punk with alternating male and female vocals, this EP was just sort of a mess to my ears.

JonM 06-13-2006 03:16 PM

Have you heard the Notwist record, Alex?

Interstate 06-13-2006 03:26 PM

Rocky Votolato - Makers - I'm starting to really like this.
Dangerdoom - The Mouse & The Mask - I quite like this actually. I much prefer it to Doom's other stuff which I can't seem to get into.

I should've mentioned that they're not for everyone. Whatever. I'm still cooler than you.

Urban Outfitters. Someone told me they had really nice jeans, and they do, but they're $140.

cb240 06-13-2006 04:21 PM

I have 6 pairs of jeans that are more than $140, none purchased from urbn though.

Zebra 06-13-2006 04:21 PM

Minutemen - Double Nickels on the Dime

There isn't a song off of this album that I dislike.

Refl 06-13-2006 04:23 PM

Mutemath's self titled does not get old.

Was worth the import costs to get hold of it.

masada 06-13-2006 08:22 PM

I've been digging the Pokemon theme song lately, along with the Poke Rap and "Pikachu Rap".

JonM 06-13-2006 08:59 PM
Nope.
You should check out Neon Golden. Lali Puna is the side project of several of Notwist's members, if I recall correclty. You can grab it from me if you like, but many others have it.

WHOA! I just downloaded Yhä Hämärää by Paavoharju because I saw it on someone's slsk list and thought it sounded funny and interesting (I had no idea who the artist was), and it's really very interesting. I'm not sure how many listens I'll get out of it, but I'm glad I'm giving it one at the moment.

They're Finnish, and they're born-again Christians, whatever that means in this particular instance. For more information, I refer you to the Pitchfork review, which seems accurate so far.

cb240 06-13-2006 10:17 PM

I'll give that a try ^^

pppoe 06-13-2006 10:45 PM

I remember listening to Paavoharju like a year ago.
