PaulSimonon 10-26-2004 03:30 PM

I believe I told you I was considering a Peavey T-40.

I'm no longer considering! :D
It's mine! Being shipped from Texas. Needs a small bit of work, nothing seriously wrong with it. 125USD!! (+30$shipping/insurance :upset: )

Saitoku 10-26-2004 03:31 PM

YAY! Someone used my spleen rhyme.

A bass, and a glorious one at that!

Cosmetic wear, switches need replacing. I've emailed Peavey about buying the switches.

LambofDeth 10-26-2004 04:23 PM

Sup MX
Today, i got to finally play the stand-up in concert. However i instantly made a fool of myself by asking if there was a plug in, of course the teacher tells everyone that they're all acoustic, and are never amped. WELL this coming from the same temp (can't wait till shes gone) who told us there was no bass in concert, obviously has never seen a stand-up that plugs in (and if they don't...then i have some serious problem because i could've sworn i've played one before). So only me and the 2 tuba players right in front of me (oh the join, 2 of my best friends, its kick ***) can hear me. Thus the reason today i got bored and busted out for whom the bell tolls in the middle of the song, pretty funny actually.
A gr. 11 bassist came through and gave me some tips too, stuff like how playing with two fingers will make it more hearable (audible???) and just general stuff (it was my first time playin a stand-up, good help).
So anyone else here play standup in concert band??? Its hella fun, god i can't wait till i can play on every song (still 1/2 trumpet).

Dieforitall89 10-26-2004 04:25 PM

I would love too..but my school deosnt support music, don't know where i could go in town and too poor too buy my own.

Left Shoe 10-26-2004 04:26 PM

well hey a new thread , anyway got yelled at today for stealing something from the st louis bands of america regional, nothing to major , but still its ridiculous my band director is making me return it and write a formal letter of apology. *must break 2000 posts*

So I take it this jazz band is a school-thing and counts as a grade/credit? If not she can't hold you back at all.

Left Shoe 10-26-2004 04:45 PM

Yes, the shame for the Michigan game has worn off due to my new bass!

It'll be here soon! I hope...

Left Shoe 10-26-2004 04:54 PM

no asshole , just kidding what up

FUNKNBASS 10-26-2004 04:55 PM

Bad New about my Conk, the burr on thr truss was able to crack the neck and start a crack on the fretbord from the 3rd fret to the 7th. This really sux. In the end I wont have to pay but its a real big hassle. Its even leading me to question the quality of the Groove Tools serise.

Well, they are mass-produced...

So you are just having to get a new neck, or what?

Purdue is a very frustrating team. To quote someone I know, "The Cubs of college football"

Saitoku 10-26-2004 05:00 PM
What spleen rhyme?
Oh, it was back in casual twelve.

I thought it would be cool to have the casual 13 title have something to do with a spleen. I think the one I came up with was "be kind to your spleen."

I'm just glad to see that the spleen is finally getting its due credit around here.

The BDGT-7 necks are through-necks so thats not an option.

yes but us conklin lovers usually differentiate between the two.

And act like the past 14 years of my life didn't exist? That I haven't been to a game every season for as long as I can remember? Give up the Jim Cheney jokes? No.... I'll stick with Purdue. They'll win a national championship sometime within my lifetime.

Left Shoe 10-26-2004 05:04 PM

i really dont see the appeal of sports , maybe some of you coudl give me some pointers to get my interested.

Saitoku 10-26-2004 05:05 PM

The Red Sox might do it. Maybe Perdue will do it too.
