I'll have to live up to being mean now, I guess.

Hello?[/QUOTE]

Ouch! That hurt!

Bartender 02-08-2005 10:49 PM

I would poke again, but I fear 'twould kill the thread.

Having said that, this post will probably kill the thread.

Heh, it did till now.

xizoesira 02-08-2005 11:02 PM

The thread has, in her will, entitled her postcount to me.

Bartender 02-08-2005 11:06 PM

The hell she has. I'd like to contest that will. Anyone here a lawyer?

xizoesira 02-08-2005 11:12 PM

Me and the thread had a very special relationship.

Bartender 02-08-2005 11:13 PM

'The thread and I'

BAM. Nailed by the grammar police.

I'll post bail for you if I can have joint custody of her post count.

xizoesira 02-08-2005 11:21 PM

Oh shi

Done deal.

Like I was saying, though, we have a strange relationship. You probably shouldn't ask her about it. Just look at her current title.

Bartender 02-08-2005 11:24 PM

Touché; have some rep.

NP: The Adicts - Who Spilt My Beer

I can't stop listening to these guys. Punk is addicting.

Wow, that was corny.

I was addicted to punk, until I started playing guitar and realized how simple lots of it was. I haven't listened to it lately because I like metal so much.

Huber 02-08-2005 11:48 PM

If I didn't hank out with punk kids I'd have forgotten it too. My friend gave me some Adicts CDs, and their just great.

Technally, only technally, metal is a heavier version of punk with a solo or punk is a lighter version of metal.

Some of my friends have been listening to a lot more punk lately, so I suspect I'll be pulled back into the genre soon, even if I don't listen to it very often. I used to listen to punk and only punk, so it would probably be easy to get back into it.

Kurtz 02-08-2005 11:51 PM

I was into Black Flag and Misfits for a while, but then I got into Sabbath and Maiden, so that changed everything.

I still give BF a good spin once in a while.

Same with me, except Metallica was my gateway band into metal. I also lisened to a lot of Maiden when I first got into metal. Sabbath came a bit later for me.

Bartender 02-08-2005 11:56 PM

Just so long as you don't bash punk for being crap compared to metal. Without punk plenty of metal (mostly more extreme metal) wouldn't exist. I love pointing that out to idiots :)

I think it's funny when people hate punk, yet their favorite thrash bands wouldn't be there if it weren't for punk. I think some of it is great, I just prefer metal. :)

/hopes idiot statement wasn't directed at me. :(

Lateralias 02-09-2005 12:00 AM

Earlier Maiden sounds somewhat punkish to me... and I love it, although most punk bands I just can't get into. Bands such as NOFX, Anti Flag, Bad Brains, Misfits... all that stuff....

Sabbath was my gateway to metal for me... I remember the first time I heard Paranoid and NIB... good memories.

Bartender 02-09-2005 12:00 AM

It wasn't. If I'd wanted to (seriously) call you guys idiots, I'd do it more bluntly, rather than disguising it with words and phrases for fun.

xizoesira 02-09-2005 12:03 AM

Punk is like the glass of water I drink before eating a big steak. The steak being metal.

Definitely, especially the debut.

Di'Anno played a big part in that whole early Maiden sound imo.

I'm not suprised about most of those, except Misfits. Most people like them, but to each his own.

Wow, that is late. I'm out soon too.

Later.

Huber 02-09-2005 12:22 AM

Man, I hate being on the side of the world that's always got the earlier time. Then when it's late in the other time zones and everyone leaves, it's still early over here and there is barely anybody around.

Okay, doesn't look like he'll be answering soon, so I'm off.

A quick hello  to Gilmour, and and now I really will see you all tomorrow.

Ok, I guess I'm actually leaving for the night.

Later MX.

Huber 02-09-2005 12:48 AM

Now I must be off.

Good bye everyone.

ArcLite 02-09-2005 01:00 AM

Have a good one. Hows everyone doing?

xizoesira 02-09-2005 01:27 AM

Just finished a project and feeling pretty good about it.

ArcLite 02-09-2005 01:30 AM

Wow, never thought I'd see the day...a new avatar for xiz. I'll miss seeing that old chap, whoever he was.
