10th. I mean I talk with people I know, but I want to be able to strike a conversation with anyone.

nobodyblossomsforever 02-16-2006 09:43 PM

I still don't see how the way a person walks does anything to do with confidence. At least I don't judge how a person walks.

Unfortunatley, high school isn't really like that. Most people don't have anything to say, and some people already won't like you anyway, that's just how it is. What I don't get is why people seem to be calling you out about being "anti-social" or "having no life", etc. Again in my experience, people leave each other alone for the most part. I've actually never heard one of my friends call people we don't hang out with anit-social or that they have no life.

You know music don't you? Thats the easiest way to break the ice in my experiances I have meet so many people by noticing something maybe they were humming or a shirt they wore and ask them about the band, favorite things etc...
I still don't see how the way a person walks does anything to do with confidence. At least I don't judge how a person walks.
People who walk sorta slumped over and looking down give off a sign that they are weak or don't want to be seen or noticed.

It absolutely does, whether you see it or not. People who walk with good posture, and with their head up, looking forward, etc. appear to be confident. A slower walk with poor posture, head down indicates that the person is either shy or doesn't seem to care very much about making an impression.

There's part of the problem. High school is an extremely competitive and separatist environment.

And regardless of how you may judge people based on body language, you should assume the rest of the world will. Fix your posture. Chest out, shoulders back, head high. Dare the world to just try and get in your way. And project your voice. Let it resonate and take your time speaking. No hurry.

nobodyblossomsforever 02-16-2006 10:14 PM

I keep my head up....I just bend forward when I walk, it feels comfy

I'll work on it though.

As fans of music, you all need to watch this. How is it fair that Ron and Bobby Jarzombek are SO talented?!

Leper 02-17-2006 01:21 AM

Now if only you could use that big avatar for good instead of evil...

I have to maintain my reputation.

"WHAT! You just bought Meddle, yet you started the Pink Floyd thread?![expletiveremoved]?"

I just wanted to remind everyone of my gorgeously scratched CDs.

Amit 02-17-2006 01:28 AM

Riva 02-17-2006 01:35 AM

Hmm a very valid point. You mustn't show the slightest sign of weakness.

I always, stupidly, just get too annoyed by how little they know to carry on the conversation. So it's never really helped me.

I think it's time my band got a new drummer yet again :upset:

kurrpt 02-17-2006 09:43 AM

least you have one...

that band i was jamming with is complaining cause i dont use "enough FX"

Its my belief that they should be worrying about all their "orignals" sounding the same. He think doing some swelled notes with a volume pedal would solve most of that

<sigh> fukking noobs

Jev 02-17-2006 09:46 AM

Bands suck.

I think I'll go solo, playing Mozart covers.

Good plan. I learnt some Mozart on guitar myself, but now I just plan to learn it on piano instead.

NP: Chopin - Fantasie Impromptu

yea, i told myself if this little dilly didnt pan out, I'm going back into hiatus for another 6 months.

Im just sick of the bullsh!t really. These retards need to realize they WONT make it big, and need to try doing something they enjoy, instead of playing some BS to make an extra 100 split 4 ways.

Is there any way to download off of that site?

Bartender 02-17-2006 10:43 AM

I hope I remember to never go to town during half term again. Even if it is to get to the cinema.

kurrpt 02-17-2006 10:43 AM

what happened?

Bartender 02-17-2006 10:49 AM

Nothing. Nothing story-worthy, anyway. There was just all these people there (worse; kids), and I hate them.

kurrpt 02-17-2006 10:51 AM

agorophobia?
