FUNKNBASS 10-26-2004 05:53 AM

I'm still pissed at Conklin, they made a mistake that as far as I know Rogue hasn't even made.

Rollo47 10-26-2004 05:53 AM

You sure are, Popin.

Mitchell Royce 10-26-2004 05:54 AM

man, i never catch these things so early. anways, Just got back from Uni, the weather's abbysmal, and my lecturer didn't show up so I'm home early. Gonna celebrate by staring at gear I can't afford for while.

FUNKNBASS 10-26-2004 05:55 AM

Thats always fun Mitch.

Mitchell Royce 10-26-2004 06:01 AM

It is, but I've been GASing for a G&L L2500 for the past two weeks, and there's nowhere around here that I can go and play one. I've even got the money for a used one if I don't eat for two weeks. Hmm, I wonder if prostitution pays well anymore.

FUNKNBASS 10-26-2004 06:05 AM

Thats always an option Mitch. I'd say go out and get yourself a G&L I doubt you'd be disapointed. Though I do belive in try before you buy.

Mitchell Royce 10-26-2004 06:13 AM

Same here actually, I'm seriously looking for a used one, but it's a tad difficult here in Germany. I know there's none in my area right now, and the closest licensed dealer is 2 hours away. I'll be going on a Field trip soon, to try them out, but it ain't helping my GAS at all. You got your eyes on anything currently?

thelowsoundofbass 10-26-2004 06:24 AM

funkin has too many basses as it is, he doesn't need more. BTW i am lookin at getting a guitar to expand my musical abilities, what cheep brand would you recommend?
what did conklin do???

lowsound
Ok I went and got myself a Conklin BDGT-7 cool uh. Well the next day I started to notice that the neck was a little out of wack. I go to get the neck checked out a a shop and the truss rod wasnt budging. When they removed the rod they discoved the rod had a fairly large burr about 3 inches long that was digging into the neck wood. Its at the shop now thier taking the fretboard off to see how much damage was done. I saw the rod and it looked bad, I would think Conklin could tell if I could tell.

thelowsoundofbass 10-26-2004 06:30 AM

^^^that sucks man, but they are making a bunch they might not have noticed it. common error. is there a warranty on it? and congrats on the new bass.

Jamie 10-26-2004 07:12 AM

^^^^ always good!

what you buying?

i've got a 4 string fretted, 4 string fretless, and a 6 string guitar.

Im only going to ever get one of everything, eg. a 6er a 4 fret, a 4 fretless, a guitar, a 5er maybe, etc.

Although in about a years time im going to be investing in a marcus miller jazz bass... :)

thelowsoundofbass 10-26-2004 07:16 AM

i have a fretless 4 and a fretted five. i am not sure what kind of guitar i am buying but i am thinking of a low end ibanez or a jackson something in that price range.

bass_raptor 10-26-2004 07:49 AM

hey all
i only got one of each: 4 string bass and 6 string electric.
used to have an acoustic, but my cousin stole it back off me :(
prob buy a cheap new one when i get around to it

hopefully when the holidays come i'll earn enough to buy a 5 string

Its interesting to see that so many ppl have lots of guitars, i would have thought the average would be one or 2

ScorpSath 10-26-2004 09:10 AM

Wow, I think hell itself froze over last night. The girl I've been trying to get with for well over 4 years now finally agreed to a date last night. My friends suspect she hit her head on something, I think she just realized what a catch I was. Either way, its been a weird few day with nothing but compliments about my songs and that. Am I dreaming?
