THANK YOU, imaginary rep points for liking same singer as i do.
If you have any doubts, listen to Candlelight Fantasia or Of Sins and Shadows, this guy beats James Hetfield, Labrie, whoever you throw at him.

and back to metallica.... your turn

Each to their own mate, I personally think LaBrie pwns, but oh well.

willis2441 05-02-2005 10:23 PM

hi thread,what we talkin about?

Huber 05-02-2005 10:29 PM

I think ZP Theart beats the guy from Symphony X, and maybe LaBrie, but I haven't hear much DT to judge.
hi thread,what we talkin about?
About Lebrie not being the best singer today. Some guy said he is the best singer today. But yea, that guy in blind guardian just gives me goosebumps. His voice is so different and awesome. I can't really describe it in words. If you like Blind Guardian, you know what I mean.

Deth 05-03-2005 08:14 AM

About the DT version of MOP, it's just too clean for me. It's not dirty and sloppy enough to be fun.

What do you mean sloppy? If MOP is played sloppy it sounds crap.

fatbandit 05-03-2005 11:01 AM

Best singer = Mike Patton

MrSigma 05-03-2005 11:11 AM

Does James Hetfield do the voice of the Kool-Aid Man?

"Oohhhhh Yeahhhh!"

metalcritter666 05-03-2005 12:49 PM

What was the name of the singer in Metallica before James played guitar? (In 1981)

PepsiMetal 05-03-2005 12:59 PM

Does anyone have that mop by dt video? I'd like to see it again, but am unable to find it anywhere.

ytsedrummer 05-03-2005 01:13 PM

Do you mean a music video? If so i have never heard of it. I am led to believe that the theme of the album Master of puppets, was based from a film released? everyone who died in the film was represented by a small wooden cross, not even names were placed on them, they were just body number 2265 ect:...

The song Master Of Puppets is about drug addictions but the cover of MoP is to do with the concept of Disposable Heroes, about conscription.

Also have an .mp3 of them doing the whole Master of Puppets album.

Chu 05-03-2005 01:36 PM

Ok, before I do check Dboon's free music thread, second last page (I think page 7). There's a Cacophony video I uploaded, let me know if the link still works. If it doesn't ask for it again in Dboon's thread, it could use a bump.

Huber 05-03-2005 02:32 PM

If your looking for stuff like early Metallica, check out Testament (The Legacy, The New Order, and Practice What You Preach are good albums), Slayer (get Raining Blood), Megadeth (get Rust In Peace), and some Anthrax (Among The Living is a great album).

Chu 05-03-2005 02:32 PM

Oh, you're looking for thrash.
Well, there's a Titans of Thrash thread, that would be your best bet.
But just a run down on similar bands:
Exodus
Kreator
Megadeth
Heathen
Testament
Slayer

Yeah, that's all I got for now.
Go here for recommendations: http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=284958
Go here for talk of Thrash:

Edit: metal_guitar, Cacophony video would be awesome :o
Unfortunately I can't download now :(
I'll check tonight (It's 6am now).

Have you listened to Megadeth before? They're worth listening to, they have a kinda similar style to Metallica.
Edit: metal_guitar, Cacophony video would be awesome
Check Dboon's thread, and if the link is stale just let me know and I can re-upload for you.

errorleet 05-03-2005 02:35 PM
What was the name of the singer in Metallica before James played guitar? (In 1981)
I thought james was the only singer. He does sound like a different person though. Kill em all has really high vocals but St. Anger is really low.

NP: MASTER OF PUPPETS!!!!!!!

Metal Guitar what is your MSN?

metalcritter666 05-03-2005 03:08 PM
James has always sung in Metallica, it's just his voice has changed alot over the years.
Nope. Metallica definately had a different singer for a short time.

TheDMV 05-03-2005 03:21 PM

^Did they release any albums with him though? I know at least on Kill 'em All, James' voice is waay diffrent, mostly because he can't hit those high notes. I don't mind it, but I know some people do. At least he doesn't try and do that any more.

They have always had james but after they picked up bob rock as manager his voice got all screamy in my opinion.

He is dumb because he doesn't know anything there is to know about metallica?
