The Great Decay 11-27-2005 12:35 AM

There isn't a single record store in the town where I live.

Robert Crumb 11-27-2005 12:35 AM

It's right across the street from the Plaza, next to the little park that's an ice rink now. They've got a huge stock, cheap and rare stuff.

Dog 11-27-2005 12:40 AM

We have one record store in town, and it's conveniently owned by a friend of mine, so I usually can get a good deal. They rarely have anything interesting, though. :-/

JonM 11-27-2005 12:45 AM

Holy shit. That was, like, the best page ever.
That's a good one. But IMO it's Upward Over The Mountain
I have broken a string in the middle of playing that song before. Not even kidding.
I've been working on learning "Such Great Heights," it's a very simple song.
http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=15165 = Me playing it
I want to see Iron & Wine.
I'm going December 16th. Second time. \m/

I feel your pain. Was it the D string? Because if it was....

:/ you don't have that deep sam beam voice.

On The Edge 11-27-2005 04:40 AM

Jon you have a nice voice, the backup vocals fit well.

morrissey 11-27-2005 04:42 AM

I like his voice. Nice work. :)

lilsolsman 11-27-2005 10:53 AM

In Holland we have this cd store. It's called Free Record Shop.

Turns out, the records aren't free.

Glitterati 11-27-2005 11:39 AM

Happy birthday to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....

Interesting that I say that, considering I had to shout over my parent's voices this morning to ask them to stop singing happy birthday to me.

np: Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

morrissey 11-27-2005 11:40 AM

Happy Birthday! Sweet sixteen? ;)

And hey I listened to LWTUA like five minutes ago

:h5:

Glitterati 11-27-2005 11:46 AM

Happy Birthday guy. *slap on the back*

Jawaharal 11-27-2005 12:25 PM

anybody watch the radiohead concert last night? It was on cinemax I think. Great show.

The Great Decay 11-27-2005 12:34 PM

I watched some of A Clockwork Orange last night, and then I watched a show about ninjas on the discovery channel.

BillCosby 11-27-2005 01:27 PM
I watched some of A Clockwork Orange last night,
Well, I watched all of it, and it was very good.

Daniel! 11-27-2005 01:35 PM

I'm gonna go down to K Street Records right now. Hopefully there will be some good stuff. I don't have much money anyways.

Bukowski 11-27-2005 01:54 PM

I bought the book (A Clockwork Orange) today. I havn't seen the movie though.

Electrocution 11-27-2005 02:07 PM

I broke a string on my guitar. I think I'll go drive to the music store now. Which I can do. Legally.

Anxious 11-27-2005 02:10 PM

I'm scared of driving for some reason.

BillCosby 11-27-2005 02:16 PM

Feels great, doesn't it?

6Stringer 11-27-2005 04:55 PM

I bought The Fall - The Rough Trade Anthology, it's gold.

Daniel! 11-27-2005 04:56 PM

Just got back from the record store. I got Husker Du - New Day Rising, The Who - Live at Leeds, and Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks, each for 6 bucks. Blood On the Tracks has a scratch going through the first half of side A, but other than that they are in good condition.

br3ad_man 11-27-2005 05:30 PM

I think I just won the "most multiple posts ever" award.

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167945&page=369

I would delete them, but considering that there's 16, I have better things to do.

That's some good watchin'. I bought and watched Fight Club last night, and I'm gonna watch my new special edition DVD of The Big Lebowski tonight

I watched Clerks for the first time today. Man that film is good (I didn't like Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back) but I loved Clerks. I haven't seen Mallrats or Chasing Amy yet (the latter, my friend assures me, is the best Kevin Smith film) so I'll watched those at some point.

Yeah, I'd say it's pretty good.

br3ad_man 11-27-2005 06:52 PM

I recently got in trouble for having never seen a Kevin Smith film. I think Clerks was his first, so I might check that one out.

Zappa 11-27-2005 07:36 PM

Clerks is great. Dogma is fun, too.
Clerks is great. Dogma is fun, too.
Is Clerks the one in black and white where the guy works at a liquor store? That's a good movie. Dogma is good too, they play it on Comedy Central all the time and usually I end up watching the whole thing every time.

Aw cute.

With daddy sitting shotgun? ;)

Wanker 11-27-2005 09:15 PM

Clerks > Mallrats > Dogma > Jay And Silent Bob

I can't vouch for Chasing Amy since I never saw it and heard it was Kevin Smith's worst film.

pixiesfanyo 11-27-2005 09:17 PM
