my second guitarist quit my band today...
no Idea why really, he just said sorry and left as it was at the end of his shift at work., I said when are you working next week so we can get some practice, and he just said something I didn't quite hear then said sorry and left...

he was already in another band, he offered to play for us as we were short of good people, curse of a small rural school again. we didn't have anyone good who was free, I saw he was a good player, and we went to see cradle together so he seemed like a cool guy and all, and he IS a cool guy but I don't quite know why he doesn't want to play when he bloody well offered to!

I got 3 hours of sleep last night, and I drank about 15 cups of coffee at work so I wouldnt pass out. But now I am craving coffee, I think I am addicted :-/

Ive been working a lot during the day so I can get a pimped out computer to play games/record on. At night I am either playing guild wars, or I am hanging out with friends.(That reminds me, I need to get of those fireworks in the trunk of my car before my dad finds them....) That leaves little time for mx. But once I get my own computer, I will probably be on a lot more.

I know they are good, but just don't get that feeling I get from other bands, like if I listen to surrounded or wait for sleep by dream theater and am nearly moved to tears or I get that massive jolt of emotion from countless Iced earth songs

Abortion- Ehh, that's a good list of songs. Try Stinkfist, and maybe some of their darker older stuff from Undertow. 4 degrees, Prison Sex, and Part of Me are all great tracks from their first 2 releases.

Those are actually among their best songs, really. Parabol/parabola (the first track is sort of an intro to the next) is my favorite Tool song of all.

I wouldn't say Parabol/a is my favorite Tool song, but it contains by far the best solo by Jones. It's nothing technical at all, but it's just a very great solo. Gotta love the pinch harmonics at the end. :p

I think the last 6 songs I've learned on guitar have been by Tool.
