Family Guy has gotten a bit dry in my opinion. I used to love it, but just like South Park, the actual references started to make sense. Then they weren't as funny. My intelligence actually paired with the caliber of the jokes, and just made me [B]:|[/B]

It has to do with the Space Jokey that you saw in the original, so to do with a part of the film yes. To do with the actual Alien creature, I'm guessing but I think not. Im sure there will be hints at it or something to give a nod to the creature in some way.
