no no no, not at all. go for it! i love 6-string basses, though i dont own one (i have two 4 and one 5) but a six string is alot of fun to play on, you can really get creative with chords and do alot more leads, follow harmonies better, etc...Steve wouldnt mind hehe.

they are planning to do more US shows like they did in 03's "give'em Ed till im dead" tour (i saw the Chicago date, fantastic!!!!!!!!!!) so i will be probely attending 2-3 of the shows pending on how close they are.

my bassist uses one... it's weird he says he likes it, but alot of the time it's just not neccesary

FrailandBedazzled1979 09-15-2004 11:19 PM

true, its not necessary when playing with a band very often ( i use my 4 string 90% of the time), but for playing around and comming up with some out of this world bass harmonies theres nothing more fun :)

hehe, as long as you enjoy it! i love Ibanez guitars but ive never been big on their basses, its all a matter of what feels best for you :thumb: im working on some songs on my 8-track recorder now, if i like any enough ill post them online! or just do a Maiden cover lol.

PS: HAPPY 2 YEAR MX-BDAY Frail :)

Thunder Fingers 09-16-2004 12:48 PM

well, im gonna play alot of stratovarius, so i need somthing with slim neck so i can play that fast :p and well, i think Kainulainen have an awsome tone, so it cant be that bad...

FrailandBedazzled1979 09-16-2004 01:00 PM

um hmm, i do with they would crank him in a bit on the albums though. Did you download Kotipelto singing "wasted years" with The Iron Maiden Tribute band The Clairvoyants? oh it was awsome!! he does a FANTASTIC JOB!!!!!!

Thunder Fingers 09-16-2004 01:06 PM

ofcourse, he could be louder, but i hear him just fine..

XxxSla6yer6xxX 09-16-2004 01:09 PM

Iron Maiden is awesome

ashman 09-16-2004 01:49 PM

Yep that be true....on a totally random note, I put all the Iron Maiden songs that I own into MP3 format on PC.....took 2 hours and 0.99GB. And I am currently trying to listen every Maiden song in one session (which is about 15-16hours)... so I'm gonna make some coffee

Thunder Fingers 09-16-2004 01:50 PM

^

PoliticallyIncorrectMetalhead 09-16-2004 02:18 PM

Good Luck.

PoliticallyIncorrectMetalhead 09-16-2004 02:28 PM

Do you have the greatest hits and live ones though?

ashman 09-16-2004 02:57 PM

Im not including best of the beast or edward the great or any of the live ones, except for beast over hammersmith and BBC archives. I am including Best of B-sides tho. I'm upto Rime of the ancient mariner (I'm going in order).

PoliticallyIncorrectMetalhead 09-16-2004 03:13 PM

come of it, i've been posting in this thread since page 40 :p

GurS 09-16-2004 03:17 PM

also, going back to basses, p-basses are nice but i prefer the jazz shape... one of those jazz deluxes with p-bass pick ups configuration at the neck and a jazz pickup at the bridge, that'd suite me...

*kicks westfield p-bass copy*

Hardest_Rocker 09-16-2004 06:57 PM

The only Maiden song I've heard all the way through is Caught Somewhere in Time. It's awesome, i love the keyboards. Reccomendations?

You'd probably like the whole album Somewhere in Time then, and Go for Seventh son of a Seventh Son to.

Hardest_Rocker 09-16-2004 07:00 PM

Cool, I'll check it out.

Lateralias 09-16-2004 11:57 PM

Hey whats everyone favorite Iron Maiden cover from other bands? I know alot of people might say the Iced Earth or Cradle of Filth cover of Hallowed Be Thy Name. Personally, I love Opeth's cover of Remember Tomorrow.

i own both a P and a Jazz bass (both fender) and i will stand by this...Jazz basses have a more rich tone and sound overall stronger, but P-basses play twice as easy and you can gain more speed on them.
