TojesDolan 07-14-2007 09:32 PM

YouGottaBeCrazy 07-14-2007 09:35 PM
I don't have Takk. Been meaning to get it forever.
Do you mean you haven't heard it yet or that you just haven't bought it yet?

I love that damn album. When I'm in the right mood, it just seems to hit me so perfectly.

antihippy 07-14-2007 09:55 PM

i really want ( ) and takk.

TojesDolan 07-14-2007 09:58 PM

I was going to buy it the other day but the store that had it was like "it's $35" and i wnas like "no **** that ****" and I bought pron.

antihippy 07-14-2007 09:59 PM

yay for pron.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-14-2007 10:20 PM

Ágætis Byrjun is my favourite.

Kage 07-14-2007 10:26 PM

Ageatys Bfhdal;shflkas;d is pretty good, yeah. Better than ( ) probably.

TojesDolan 07-14-2007 10:57 PM

I love Ageatys Bfhdal;shflkas;d

Apocalyptic Raids 07-14-2007 11:09 PM

I'm glad I've never had to speak of that album in a conversation, I'm not sure how I'd tackle it.

YouGottaBeCrazy 07-14-2007 11:29 PM

haha.

TojesDolan 07-15-2007 02:16 AM

Ágætis Byrjun is doable.

But how the f‪uck do you talk about ()

like

()

PARENTEHSIES

antihippy 07-15-2007 02:32 AM

i just say "so, what did you think of open brackets close brackets?"

you know it.

jrowa001 07-15-2007 08:51 AM

sigur ros are so damn relaxing. took me forever to get into them and respect what theyre doing. i have (), takk, and Ágætis Byrjun. all are great. i need some new post rock, its been a while

Chrysostom 07-15-2007 09:37 AM

What the hell is post-rock?

Tyr 07-15-2007 10:07 AM

bwnstl 07-15-2007 10:09 AM

Wikipedia is correct about everything.

Chrysostom 07-15-2007 10:10 AM
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_rock
I see. Thanks.

Eliminator 07-15-2007 10:13 AM
Wikipedia is correct about everything.
YEAH GUYS WIKIPEDIA SUCKS LOL IM GOING TO SAY THIS EVERY TIME SOMEONE POSTS A LINK LOL

bwnstl 07-15-2007 10:46 AM

lol, nah, I love Wikipedia. I just know that when it comes to music genres there is so much vagary and subjectiveness that Wikipedia usually comes close but falls short of giving a complete picture.

But eh, I guess it's a good start usually.

AA-12 07-15-2007 10:49 AM
On a completely random note...I really like Sigur Ros
Best post rock band. ( ) = Flawless and absolutely cathartic album.

Eliminator 07-15-2007 10:56 AM

the day i got it, i probably listened to ( ) like five times in a row

Kage 07-15-2007 11:01 AM

And those five times were enough for a lifetime.

Eliminator 07-15-2007 11:04 AM

i listen to it every great once in awhile

bwnstl 07-15-2007 11:05 AM
And those five times were enough for a lifetime.
lol, so pessimistic. Give them some credit, they DO have a pretty distinct ethereal sound. Explosions in the Sky-esque post-rock bands are everywhere. How many sound like Sigur Ros?

AA-12 07-15-2007 11:13 AM

I listen to it every single day. The effect never goes away.

Kage 07-15-2007 11:20 AM

Yeah I respect Sigur Ros, but don't listen that often. When I do I really enjoy it, though.s

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-15-2007 11:22 AM

I think I would refer to ( ) as their white album with the really uncreative name.

ATM 07-15-2007 11:35 AM

( ) rules really late at night.

bwnstl 07-15-2007 11:50 AM

I hate listening to () when I'm depressed, because the first half is like "hey, this is making me feel a little better" and then it hits into track 6 (E-Bow) and it's like "holy cow I'm gonna kill myself."*

*I'm not suicidal, I just overly exaggerate.
Yeah I respect Sigur Ros, but don't listen that often. When I do I really enjoy it, though.s
Oh, ok, I gotchoo man. You just came across like they weren't worth listening to. :)

Nepenthe 07-15-2007 01:10 PM

Sigur Ros really isn't that awesome.

Kage 07-15-2007 01:26 PM

A lot of things Josh proclaims as the greatest thing in the world aren't that awesome.

Nepenthe 07-15-2007 01:33 PM

Everything that Josh proclaims as the greatest thing in the world isn't that awesome.

YouGottaBeCrazy 07-15-2007 01:49 PM

Untitled 8 is pretty awesome.

TojesDolan 07-15-2007 01:53 PM

My thoughts precisely.

Kage 07-15-2007 01:55 PM

Best song on the record.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-18-2007 10:20 AM

Sounds like Tool doing post rock tbh

Nepenthe 07-18-2007 12:33 PM

nope

Kage 07-18-2007 12:40 PM

Tool doing post rock sounds like a nightmare.
