Dopethrone by the 'lec wiz is one of the best albums ever

it probably is the heaviest album recorded, i can't think of something that tops it

so much hate :)
Dopethrone is great. Their other albums are great too.

pate 11-29-2006 09:06 PM

Yes. They can do no wrong.

AlienEater 11-30-2006 12:42 PM

yeah

Patrick O))) 11-30-2006 12:46 PM

No

what?

AlienEater 11-30-2006 12:48 PM

I don't understand

Patrick O))) 11-30-2006 12:50 PM

Not heard owt by Dopethrone tbh

Neoteric 11-30-2006 01:10 PM

i've been listening to Cathedral a lot lately.

pate 11-30-2006 03:29 PM

I've been on a big Cathedral kick for a few weeks. Great band.

Neoteric 11-30-2006 03:35 PM

The album The Carnival Bizarre has been on my playlist for a few weeks now.

pate 11-30-2006 04:03 PM

It and The Ethereal Mirror are my most-played Cathedral albums.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-30-2006 11:00 PM

I've only got Forest of Equilibrium by them. I've never listened to it much tbh, even though it was the first Doom album I ever heard.

AA-12 11-30-2006 11:06 PM

Cathedral is okay. Lately i've been into the unholy trio of Orodruin, Count Raven, and The Gates of Slumber.

Txus 11-30-2006 11:18 PM

The Gates Of Slumbeeeer! \m/

I loooove every single album by them.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-30-2006 11:29 PM

Orodruin, Reverend Bizarre and The Gates of Slumber win as far as newer Trad bands go.

Daven 11-30-2006 11:31 PM

I've been meaning to check Orodruin out.

AA-12 11-30-2006 11:31 PM

Reverend Bizarre can't keep my interest past like 2 songs. Good stuff though.

Txus 11-30-2006 11:34 PM

I bought 1 Candlemass shirt today :)

AA-12 11-30-2006 11:35 PM

Candlemass shirts are amazing.

Txus 11-30-2006 11:46 PM

Indeed they are. I bought this one:

Hmm.. I feel like that when I'm not in the mood for that type of thing but when I am I can listen to them endlessly.

Zedthephish 12-01-2006 02:51 AM

Here's some local doom to check out:
http://www.myspace.com/ocean

AA-12 12-01-2006 02:56 AM

That's actually really good. Probably post-metal though, not doom really.

Zedthephish 12-01-2006 03:00 AM

They call themselves doom, I just enjoy it.

Maine actually has a really killer metal scene, it's just impossible to export, because we're basically in canada.

You forgot Warning. Speaking of whom, their new album is out in the next month. All the reviews I've read are more than positive! I 've ordered mine already (in a limited edition hand-carved box no less!).

Apocalyptic Raids 12-01-2006 04:59 AM

The Strength To Dream is great, so I'll have to check that one out.

Neowens 12-01-2006 06:21 AM

anyone heard the desert sessions by josh homme and others? that cab b epretty stoner at times. Its really hit andmiss though, listen to a#1 though, what a track, its like hendrix and kyuss mixed.

AlienEater 12-01-2006 12:04 PM

the desert sessions are cool, but some suck. 1and 2 are the best

pate 12-01-2006 12:17 PM

I talked with the singer/guitarist of Sahg over youtube yesterday. He said they're working on another album and will return to the States after it's release early next year.

FOR THE WIN :)

I will go no matter who they are opening for.

Patrick O))) 12-01-2006 05:34 PM

Today I got High On Fire - Surrounded by Thieves

Are they coming to Canada?....

pate 12-01-2006 06:07 PM

No idea. They did this time, opening for Celtic Frost, but who knows in the future.

publicastration 12-01-2006 10:17 PM

Can someone send me a sample of Sahg?

Apocalyptic Raids 12-01-2006 10:19 PM

I was in the Daily Upload recently, the link is still active.

AA-12 12-01-2006 10:22 PM

They were sent to the daily upload a while back.

pate 12-02-2006 08:12 PM

Twice lawl

rippa32 12-02-2006 10:32 PM

Has anyone here got the Sub-Basement album from Pentagram? Ive only got the mp3 of Drive Me To The Grave and I love the vocal style Bobby uses on that compared to the other Pentagram stuff I have. Does the other songs on that album feature this vocal style?

Shattered_Future 12-03-2006 02:28 PM

I'm actually listening to I right now. It's owning my ears rather hard at the moment.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-03-2006 08:47 PM
Twice lawl
That is so annoying seeing the same albums in the Daily Upload, sometimes I wish there weren't requests. I've lost count of how many times A Celebration of Guilt and A Diamond For Disease have been in there.

pate 12-03-2006 08:50 PM

Well, Txusie and I both uploaded the Sahg album for our Vs. issue, so that's a bit different. But agreed, way to many albums get done multiple times.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-03-2006 08:53 PM

It's always the same bands too. Arsis, Necrophagist, Atheist etc. In other words all the bands that are or have been fads around mx.
