Old stuff was more metalcore though, I guess.
no, i'd say as they evolve they get more metal influences in them.

PlasticGangster 09-17-2004 03:07 PM

the blood brothers and fear before the march of flames confuse me....

BuddyBigsby 09-17-2004 03:08 PM

Oh, and last night was good times. Haste the Day were awesome, though I felt a wee bit homoerotic singing along to the pretty parts. I can safely say Dead to Fall's new album sucks and that their singer is the ugliest man ever. Martyr AD destroyed.

cbmartinez 09-17-2004 03:09 PM

Both bands are extremely hard to classify. Both blend a lot of styles including screamo, pop-punk, metal, etc.

Sounds awesome. I get chills just thinking about what a Martyr AD show would be like.

PlasticGangster 09-17-2004 03:10 PM

aahah!
haste the day has really catchy guitar rhythm's

NewKindofArmy03 09-17-2004 03:12 PM

PlasticGangster 09-17-2004 03:41 PM

im going to see unearth with the black dahlia murder and terror on the 13th

PlasticGangster 09-17-2004 03:43 PM
i'm going to have to say unearth has the catchiest guitar leads.

You said NewJack. Hahahaha, my friend out here says that like 24/7.
Haha, I try not to say it too often. I usually just say newbie but then if I say it on here people think I'm talking about forum newbies.

i think that band is horrible, old stuff and new stuff. at least the old stuff was respectable though.

AndHagan3 09-17-2004 05:14 PM

There old stuff was ok. I hate their new sound though.

NewKindofArmy03 09-17-2004 05:21 PM

yet another good show in the fall: paint it black, from ashes rise, breather resist and some other bands.

young, loud and andrew 09-17-2004 06:04 PM

I haven't been to a hardcore show since the end of July, and I don't know of any in the near future I can go to. I'm going crazy!

I do have these soon though:
alexisonfire/moments in grace
coheed and cambria
and a few more i can't remember right now.

shane italian 09-17-2004 07:26 PM

Madball, NSK, and H20 on October 1st!

A-Life-Less-Plagued 09-17-2004 07:26 PM

I've got Verse and a bunch of local bands tomorrow.

shane italian 09-17-2004 07:26 PM
i think that band is horrible, old stuff and new stuff. at least the old stuff was respectable though.
I love new Underoath.

cbmartinez 09-17-2004 09:43 PM

I checked out a lot of screamo/grindcore tonight. Some old favorites like Neil Perry, Crestfallen, Majority Rule, Love Lost But Not Forgotten. Kaospilot. But I found a lot of new grind-y screamo stuff like Song Of Zahustra (sp), Racebannon, His Hero Is Gone, Danad, Ruins, In/Humanity. Some good stuff. I also checked out this cool emo band on Level Plane, Transisitor Transisitor. And I found an amazing Nintendocore band but the name escapes me. I listened to Bury Your Dead and On Broken Wings and they sounded real good. I also found the weirdest band on the face of this earth, Mr. California And The State Police. Their like rock/electronica/weird, with song titles like No Soda Pop and Can You Beat The Chicken? (both of which have the song titles repeated many times).

You can download some songs at the bottom of the page here.

http://www.loadrecords.com/bands/mrcalifornia.html

But look for Can You Beat The Chicken? and No Soda Pop if you have a downloading program.

shane italian 09-17-2004 09:44 PM

Song of Zarathustra > all emo bands

NewKindofArmy03 09-17-2004 09:45 PM

his hero are gone are nowhere near grind or screamo, but if you like them check out tragedy.

cbmartinez 09-17-2004 09:47 PM

Eh, they seemed pretty grindy from the stuff I heard.

The band that reminded of nintendocore was An Albatross.

shane italian 09-17-2004 09:49 PM

I have special An Albatross cd with video footage of "No You Can't Take That Hot Rod With You".

NewKindofArmy03 09-17-2004 09:49 PM

i'd say they're hardcore/punk/crust. tragedy is basically the same band with a different name.

nothing6 09-17-2004 11:24 PM

what exactly is "crust"? i've heard it used before, but a long long time ago, and i forget how they used it. Can anyone explain?

cbmartinez 09-18-2004 09:31 AM

Awesome. I really liked what I heard.

Yeah, I was wondering myself.

A-Life-Less-Plagued 09-18-2004 09:38 AM

Sort of punk-infused metal

cbmartinez 09-18-2004 09:41 AM

Okay....

I like to take this moment to say that Jane Doe is one of the best albums ever written.
