could i get some metal recommendations. really anything but preferably really entry level black metal no obscure ****. i only really like three metal bands: burzum, darkthrone and agalloch so something like those.
also no immortal, ulver or viking stuff.

really really love And So I Watch You From Afar's s/t album, can anyone suggest to me some more stuff similar please (either heavier or softer/vox/ no vox doesn't matter)

Ventriloquist 01-14-2010 06:35 PM

If the Trees Could Talk - Above the Earth, Below the Sky
God is an Astronaut - Far From Refuge
The Non - Paper City

None of them have vox. I didn't want to bomb you with post-rock recs, you probably know the obvious ones. This imo sound similar to ASIWYFA.

Nepenthe 01-14-2010 07:48 PM

if these trees could talk is a great rec for bands similar to asiwyfa. also check out

gifts from enola
caspian
te
vanessa van basten

I've asked this before... but what's some good acoustic music besides Bright Eyes, Elliott Smith and Nick Drake?

Thanks man. And thanks Beans I actually liked them. Also, does an acoustic metal album exist?

Nepenthe 01-14-2010 10:21 PM

not unless you consider power ballads metal

you could try earth's hex or human bell's self titled they are generally referred to as 'acoustic doom'

Try The Dodos - Visiter. Good acoustic indie with kind of tribal percussion.
