I also read his little "Q+A" question for Kirk Hammett in the latest "Guitar World" and it read, basically, "Do you think that Master of Puppets type music, with epic, blistering, solo-filled metal will ever become popular again?" For some reason when I read this he struck me as a moron.

I've generally been very unimpressed with all of the NWOAHM bands with regard to leads. They seem to lack all melodic sense, instead sounding like the wheedly, dissonant, crappy solos that caused Kurt Cobain to kill them in the first place. Ugh. If bands like Trivium are what's gonna "bring shred back" then shred can stay dead.
