They are actually auctioning off his "last" broken guitar. For charity. Signed and mounted, I believe. Broke it at a Japanese gig a couple years back. I saw a tape of it. He knocked the crap out of it. Roger looked amused. Or perhaps bemused? Poor Pete. He went to give it one final shot as it dropped over his monitor and it feedbacked like crazy. Pete actually covered his ears in pain. Never saw him do that before.

I'm going to ask for expert advice here. Do you think I shoud try and wait for more dates or try to get tickets now to a show that will be tough for me to go to? Are any of the Canadian cities close to Michigan?

Um. Where I live (across the lake from Michigan) It takes about two hours to get to Sarnia, which is right across from Port Huron MI. They play in London (the gig I'm going to) which is two hours southeast from me. From Sarnia to London it would take 45 minutes maybe. Not sure how close you are to Port Huron though.

I want to go to the Jones Beach show really bad, but I don't know if I'll be able to get tickets and I know once the scalpers get them the prices will skyrocket.

That's a tough one, Lunch. This is the last go around, but making a gig miles away can take planning and time. Transportation and a schedule need to be worked out. And even if driving it's bound to be a 24 hour ordeal of getting ready to go, going, setting up while there for a nice time, and returning. I've seen an updated schedule that includes some west coast dates (Los Angeles area early November, w00t!) but the listed dates are so sporadic it's hard what to make of the schedule at all. This is supposed to be a "major" world tour. Apparently the gigs thus far have been consisdered warm-ups by the band. I can't be certain, and you know the D.C. area whereas I have no idea of it, but if it's a rock n roll concert town at all I would say they will touch down there. Just my opinion. Perhaps you can contact the promoter or someone associated? May not be hard to do.

One of the top rock bass performances ever. Probably only behind 5:15 live.

My only real option is to wait and hope they schedule some dates around me. I'll be at Michigan when they are in Philly anyway so that won't be a reasonable option, and trying to get to any of the Canada shows would be way too much of a hassle.
