Hey, there's a lot of RATM fans in here, so I wouldn't be joking about something like that.

Bass_ment 09-04-2005 08:14 AM

No chance at a new album: Tim Commerford said recently in Bass Guitar magazine that he does not miss Rage at all, and that the newest Audioslave album is the best one of his carreer.
Tom Morello recently also said in an interview for a special Kerrang article that there were personal tensions going ever since the Evil Empire recordings. And I doubt he would want to go through that again.

If Tim's not in, and Tom is apprehensive, then I can say quite honestly that we can all just face the truth that Rage Against the Machine will never play together again.

Rage is dead, long live Rage.

dr._feelgood 09-04-2005 08:31 AM

I could see them getting back together 20 years from now. Plenty of bands break up only to get back together years later.

This is true but I think that out of all the bands that break up that Rage are the least likely to get back together. I am not quite sure why I think this but I really do doubt that they will reform.

I like pretty much every original better than the version on Renegades. That was a really disappointing record for me.

Just Anotha Bombtrack!

SELF TITLED WINS

Great first post there.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-04-2005 09:20 AM

The September newbs aren't shaping up to good, and its only been four days :(

Iai 09-04-2005 09:26 AM

It always happens in September.

Kids go back to school, realise they have a lot of time to waste on the school computers, so sign up to forums. Happens every year.

Shaft! 09-04-2005 09:34 AM

It's happening in schools as well. I wore my R.A.T.M. shirt to school, and I was playing "Bombtrack" in jazz band during free time. This new kid, also a guitarist, looks at me and asks "You like R.A.T.M.?". I thought the answer was obvious, so I said "Who're they?".
I really should start working on my cover of "Bombtrack". I've finally fixed my mic.
I really haven't gotten enough of "Ashes in the Fall" yet. Very addicting song, that. I love the line about the priests in Appalacia. It's such a pleasant bitch-slap.

After finding this website I used to just read other's posts, I signed up like 4 months later, so I guess in a way I've never really been a n00b. While at least since I started to post.

Darkness 09-04-2005 03:27 PM

I made an acount when I first saw it, but I hardly posted tell about a half year after.

Same.

Does anybody know the type of guitar Tom uses for 'Calm Like A Bomb'? It looks pretty interesting.

I heard that all his guitars were, as he calls them, "mongrels". His main guitar is a strat-styled body modelled after a Kramer with an extra wide performance neck. I think that's the one with 'Soul Power' written on it.

I know that, but for Clam like A Bomb he tunes the low E to an A so he uses this guitar with a very strange head and body shape. It's on both LATGOA and TBOMC.

Janitor 09-04-2005 04:16 PM

I think that's his cheap pawnshop guitar. I'm not sure exactly what make it is.

"Soul Power" IS a Strat.
"Arm the Homeless" is the guitar he used extensively in R.A.T.M. The one with hippoes all over it and such.
It was a very cheap pawn-shop guitar. I can't even make out the make from the headstock.

Mambuto_O'Mally 09-04-2005 06:23 PM

So I downloaded some Inside Out, Zack's Hardcore band in which he played guitar, and its not to bad. I like it.

Darkness 09-04-2005 06:30 PM

He didn't play guitar in Inside Out, he just did vocals. A guy by the name of Vic played guitar.

Mambuto_O'Mally 09-04-2005 06:37 PM

I read he did both.

Darkness 09-04-2005 06:38 PM

No, he played guitar in his band before Inside Out, called Hardstance.
