I'm not sure how popular these guys are, but who has heard of The Liars? I've been really loving their minimalistic sound lately..They've a very good chill yet quite haunting sound.
|
Liars are good.

Something's not quite right tonight. Suzanne's laying in bed, but I just can't allow myself to sleep. I'm anxious and feeling stupid. Oh well, it's given me a chance to listen to music, I guess.
Brian Eno - Ambient 1 Arve Henriksen - Chiaroscuro ALSO! Shining and Arve Henriksen will both be releasing new records shortly. Shining is going to release Grindstone in January and Arve is releasing Strjon in February. I can't wait for either. |

Guided by Voices - Bee Thousand
This isn't nearly as good as I was hoping it to be. I'll have to listen to it more though. |
I'm digging Russell Gunn's new record. He's my hometown hero.

I'm digging Automatic For the People, and the White Album. Indie. |

In my case, the opposite. Every time I listen to it I get hooked to the melodies in different songs. Lewis Black - The White Album |
Big Black - Songs About Fucking.
I just listened to it for 4 hours during my workshift. Everybody download it from the Album Trading e-mail, it's amazing. |
Mote, have you heard Atomizer? It's > SAF
I'm drowning my sorrows about missing ATP by listening to Black Flag. Good outlet for my anger. |
I'm going to get the Rich Man's 8-Track soon, which has Atomizer and couple of EP's and outtakes. If it's really that much better then SAF, then I'm in for a treat.
Right now I'mma listenin' to Meat Puppets - II |
It's not that much better, but still better. Both rule.
|
Cool. My favorite song off of SAF is L Dopa, it's just so amazingly aggressive, and all that he's really saying is "It's a dollop of Daisy." Brilliant!
|
Oh my god. Sour cream.
their cover of "He's a Whore" is cool |
Yea, I love Albini's voice is too.
|
Foy Vance
check him out in the Folk Listening partay. |
for the past hour i've been listening to Rosa in my room, non-stop.
for some reason even though they're among the most simple of the PIX folk punk bands, they're still so amazing. it just makes me happy to listen to them. |
finally heard a RHP song thanks to youtube. it was just the song playing over a still shot of the band, clever way to get that out there >:-}
it was called "Katy Song" and i remember someone posted the lyrics in that big Mark Kozelek thread. really really great song, you're right again Nacho :) |
glass on the pavement under my shoe
without you is all my life amounts to :upset: Eloy - Inside this album would be near perfect if the opener didn't rip off Pink Floyd's Echoes in certain places (still more interesting than Floyd anyway) |
