I'm not sure how popular these guys are, but who has heard of The Liars? I've been really loving their minimalistic sound lately..They've a very good chill yet quite haunting sound.

AlienEater 12-09-2006 02:57 AM

Liars are good.

asymm 12-09-2006 04:15 AM

Something's not quite right tonight. Suzanne's laying in bed, but I just can't allow myself to sleep. I'm anxious and feeling stupid. Oh well, it's given me a chance to listen to music, I guess.

Brian Eno - Ambient 1
Arve Henriksen - Chiaroscuro

ALSO! Shining and Arve Henriksen will both be releasing new records shortly. Shining is going to release Grindstone in January and Arve is releasing Strjon in February. I can't wait for either.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 12-09-2006 06:59 AM

Comets on Fire - Avatar

Kayetan 12-09-2006 09:00 AM

Yeah, Panda Bear. It seems as though I'll mainly be listening to that album for the next week or two until I get my mp3 player back.

The Unicorns - Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?

Zebra 12-09-2006 03:34 PM

Guided by Voices - Bee Thousand

This isn't nearly as good as I was hoping it to be. I'll have to listen to it more though.

JonM 12-09-2006 03:46 PM

I'm digging Russell Gunn's new record. He's my hometown hero.

Woha. weird, I loved that album so much the first week I had it, and then after that I kinda got tired of it. . . still very good, though.

I'm digging Automatic For the People, and the White Album. Indie.

In my case, the opposite. Every time I listen to it I get hooked to the melodies in different songs.

Lewis Black - The White Album

_Mote_ 12-09-2006 07:39 PM

Big Black - Songs About Fucking.

I just listened to it for 4 hours during my workshift. Everybody download it from the Album Trading e-mail, it's amazing.

Bukowski 12-09-2006 07:52 PM

Mote, have you heard Atomizer? It's > SAF

I'm drowning my sorrows about missing ATP by listening to Black Flag. Good outlet for my anger.

_Mote_ 12-09-2006 07:56 PM

I'm going to get the Rich Man's 8-Track soon, which has Atomizer and couple of EP's and outtakes. If it's really that much better then SAF, then I'm in for a treat.

Right now I'mma listenin' to Meat Puppets - II

Bukowski 12-09-2006 07:59 PM

It's not that much better, but still better. Both rule.

_Mote_ 12-09-2006 08:04 PM

Cool. My favorite song off of SAF is L Dopa, it's just so amazingly aggressive, and all that he's really saying is "It's a dollop of Daisy." Brilliant!

Eliminator 12-09-2006 08:28 PM

Oh my god. Sour cream.

their cover of "He's a Whore" is cool

_Mote_ 12-09-2006 08:31 PM

Yea, I love Albini's voice is too.

beso negro 12-09-2006 08:55 PM

Foy Vance

check him out in the Folk Listening partay.

sr800bkBassist 12-09-2006 09:22 PM

for the past hour i've been listening to Rosa in my room, non-stop.

for some reason even though they're among the most simple of the PIX folk punk bands, they're still so amazing. it just makes me happy to listen to them.

YDload 12-09-2006 11:57 PM

finally heard a RHP song thanks to youtube. it was just the song playing over a still shot of the band, clever way to get that out there >:-}

it was called "Katy Song" and i remember someone posted the lyrics in that big Mark Kozelek thread. really really great song, you're right again Nacho :)

Eloy - Inside
this album would be near perfect if the opener didn't rip off Pink Floyd's Echoes in certain places (still more interesting than Floyd anyway)
