The covered Roots Bloody Roots when I saw them which was quite cool.
Who'd you see them with?
Lamb of God last year. To be fair they were the best band at the show by a long way.
Hahaha, any walls of death?
Haha they did do it actually, so what's happening with the whole Wall of Death thing now? Are they sueing the bands that called for it like what happened to DBS?
I just read a thread in R&M about some guy dying in Germany during a wall of death.
That's sad, but when you take part in a wall of death in somewhere like Pressure Fest where there's that many people, it's pretty obvious that there's a possibility of injury. I just hope they don't blame the bands again.

lolz
Oh my, someone else at this ungodly hour. How's it going CB?
Chillin', I'm about to get some x-rays.
What for?
I missed the whole edge conv. youre all whores.
Silly Brit.
I'm off to watch TV and if I get lucky I'll get tired. Later guys. |
I totally hate the word British, just like i hate the words mate, arse, wanker, fit and just about any other national colloquialism i can think of. I still talk like a power ranger.
And like no-one Xs up here. my marker is going to waste writing phone numbers on bathroom doors. |
Go shove it up your arse you wanker.

stuff being 'well' something theres another. man. nowhere near enough Xs. the only kids that do are like the 15 year olds watching fightstar thinking the Xs are like ,you know, emo kisses.
The only show that had a like a regular number for hardcore was champion last year. |

just makes me think of those totally sickening HP ads. man. they actually make me depressed in a des and mel kinda way.
I've always paid more attention to the number of cool kids at shows rather than the number of X's. Who gives a ****? I could have cared less even when I was edge. It's a personal decision...so leave it at that.
pull the spear out your *** dude. were not trying to make some dumb elitist statement, its just like a tradition thats nice to uphold sometimes.
Are you going to keep the sell-out tradition going?
EDgE iZ 4 FAgZZZ.
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with being straight edge. I'm just saying that it shouldn't be such a big focus in hardcore. Keep it to yourself or let it out when you see your favorite straight edge bands. Everyone is in hardcore for different reasons.
Did you think about it that way when you were edge? I'm just wondering.
Everyone is in hardcore for different reasons.
truf. its not a big focus for me, you take alot of what i say way more seriously than i mean it. It was nice to see kids X up for the champion show in the same way its nice to see ducks when i walk past the lake. Straight edge was born in the hardcore community, and it will probably die with it. |
Hahahaha. I like the analogy.
In other news. I'm tired. I had to goto water polo from 5:30 to 8:00. I'm gonna leave pretty soon to get my paycheck and get some gas and see if Greene Records has the It's All Our Blood reissue. |
you and your water polo.
Gettin a hot bod.
Wait, so you judge a show on how many people X up? Are the ones that X up the only true hardcore fans/straight edge kids?
Did you think about it that way when you were edge? I'm just wondering.
I think that way and I'm edge. Not to be offensive or anything, but bragging about your lifestyle is kind of obnoxious. We can all get along whether you do drugs or not. |
Wait, so you judge a show on how many people X up? Are the ones that X up the only true hardcore fans/straight edge kids?
I know a lot of straight-edge kids, including myself, that don't X it up. |
I always count x'ed up kids, too. I don't see how you can call x'ing up bragging about your lifestyle, that's like saying wearing a shirt of a band you like is bragging about liking them. No, it's just a statement about you, whether it's about what music you like or whether it's about the fact that you're proud of the way you live your life.
Then again, maybe I only count because it's actually possible to do so. Including myself, I saw three x'ed up people when I saw Bane. THREE. Straight edge kids seem to be a dying breed around here, and so I'm happy whenever I see someone willing to wear it on their hand AND their heart. [/needless corniness] |

It's totally different then wearing a band shirt. It's making a statement, yes, that no one should really care about. It's the way they want to live, drugs or not. |
It's not like x'ing up means you're pushing edge in everybody's face. It'd be bragging if you were a prick about it, but having x's on your hands doesn't mean you're bragging about anything. It's just an easy way of saying "this is me, this what I believe in".
I know a lot of straight-edge kids, including myself, that don't X it up.
Same here. |
X'ing up IS bragging about being edge. That's why most people who have been edge for any decent amount of time usually don't X up. What is the actual purpose of X'ing up?

That's like me plastering a republican tattoo on my forehead because it's something I believe in. (hypothetical scenario) I'm not saying you're doing something wrong if you X up, but don't tell yourself you have more "heart" than the next guy for doing it. |
