Paul ftw. Seriously they're both great singers but paul had more energy and aggressive-ness. But for me it was probably more the music then the singing for the first two albums. Blaze were too slow and not fast paced enough. With paul i got to headbang all night long.
That's why I prefer Blaze right there.
Much prefer slow pace to headbanging.

temporary 01-25-2006 03:53 PM
Blaze is better than Paul IMO. i just like his deep emotional vocals so much more than Pauls rougher ones. Also Blaze had the difficult task of filling the shoes of the greatest metal vocalist ever, which he did excellently (even though many ignorant fools will disagree)
I agree, like Ollie said, he could handle the slower songs really well. But he could still pull of fast rockers, too.

MR. X 01-25-2006 06:57 PM
ftw= for the win.

Ha, i was just looking through some past pages of this thread and i found around page 200 or something your were asking the same thing about which paul album to get. Stop stalling and start buying :thumb:
I did? Wow, I remember thinking about getting one of them but getting Powerslave instead. I honestly cant remember asking in this thread. Wow I am stalling, off to the music shop.

I see you got banned because you fellate horses.
We don't go for bestiality on MX.

yeah, Frank, Strange world is in my top 5 alltime maiden songs, and I also love remember tomorrow.
It's all good.

clairvoyant 01-26-2006 05:54 AM

I dont like Strange World all that much, it never really hooked with me...

-The Frank 01-26-2006 06:55 AM

This was taken from the IM BB but dont you think its time for maiden to make a new instrumental, it has been 22 years......

My thoughts exactly, although it might be hard to do an instrumental and put it in a concept album.

Deth 01-26-2006 11:03 AM

Dream Theaters done it. It's not too hard.

YDload 01-26-2006 01:53 PM

i think they just do instrumentals to fill up space on albums if they're short on ideas, but with every band member contributing songs now (since Nicko just did on the last album), i don't think that's a problem any more.

crag 01-26-2006 01:59 PM

That's something i'd like to see, a song written solely by Nicko:p

I'd say get Powerslave, its my favorite Maiden album along with Piece of Mind. The title track is my fav Maiden song after Hallowed.

Iron Maiden never copy from Mediocre bands!

I don't think their will be an instrumental, I don't think Bruce would like it...

'tis true, ol' Brucey would be rather unhappy.

Stormrider 01-26-2006 02:51 PM

What does Bruce not like about instrumentals ?

Blasphemy!!!

Many bands have done instrumentals on concept albums though. Pain Of Salvation, Opeth, Pink Floyd. I'm sure Brucey wouldn't mind.

PepsiMetal 01-26-2006 02:58 PM
What does Bruce not like about instrumentals ?
He wouldn't be on it.

Bruce has a bit of the 'Rockstar' ego in him, he think he is the frontman to Maiden (most of the time), so I just don't think he'll like it. They still might do one. But he is the father I never had :p

Stormrider 01-26-2006 03:04 PM
He wouldn't be on it.
Ah okay. No offense to him or anything, but thats kinda lame*.

*Couldnt think of another word.

Meh, I probably would if I was in his shoes. Plus all of those bands you mentioned (except Pain of Salvation who I've never heard a thing by) have singers who also play instruments.

JamJar 01-26-2006 03:08 PM
Meh, I probably would if I was in his shows. Plus all of those bands you mentioned (except Pain of Salvation who I've never heard a thing by) have singers who also play instruments.
You have a point. (Pain Of Salvation singer also plays guitar) so yeah. Listen to Pain Of Salvation if you ever get the chance. It's basically Dream Theater minus ott wanking and better vocals.

They don't necesserily have to play the instrumental live though. Did they ever play Losfer Words live?

Stormrider 01-26-2006 03:11 PM

But if he contributes in the writing of the song...it doesnt always matter if he sings in it or not.

If there was 4 intrumentals out of 9 songs though, then I would understand, obviously.

Josh 01-26-2006 03:33 PM
They don't necesserily have to play the instrumental live though. Did they ever play Losfer Words live?
yeh they did, i have a live version somewhere, i think Ash sent it out, so it must be part of one of the "First 10 Years" set.
