for album intros Pink Floyd always takes the cake. It seems like they write an album, and then add a beginning and end to it to make it complete.

One of These Days and Speak to Me (or does Breathe come first? i can never remember which is which) are my two favourite album openers. Although Strange Days is also a great opener.

My favorite has to be The Song Remains The Same, off Houses of the Holy. That is just such a great opening track.

I've heard one song by Mountain, it was Nantucket Sleighride. I liked it a lot.

I like the intro on the first track on Led Zeppelin's first album. What a way to start

Unclebobscircus reminded me of something, who's seen Spinal Tap?

It's mediocre, but it's got some funny parts.

The amp that goes to 11 and the sustain on the guitar immediatly come to mind.

Spinal Tap is one of the best rock movies ever made. Never question it's hilarity.
