Making lists is fun.
Aqualung is a good first song on Aqualung methinks. I was listening to a song the other day thinking that it was a really good album opener, but I can't remember what it was :( |

Speak To Me/Breathe and White Room definitely. Also, I always thought Pigs On The Wing Part 1 was a good opener.

St. Stephen, SOYCD, and Roundabout.
|
Grateful Dead - U.S. Blues
Grateful Dead - Touch of Grey The Byrds - Mr. Tambourine Man George Harrison - Any Road David Grisman - Dawg's Bull CCR - Down on the Corner Black Crowes - Twice as Hard There are a few non Classic Rock songs, but...*no excuse* |
St. Stephen, SOYCD, and Roundabout.
Roundabout is an amazing song, probbably my favourite Yes song. |
Baba O'Reilly and Ramble Tamble.
And Roundabout is probably my favorite Yes song too, followed closely by All Good People and Starship Trooper. |
My cousin started listening to The Band. :upset:
Here's the story on him: He takes everything I've ever done, and starts doing it. I started guitar, he picked it up a month later. I started listening to Classic Rock, he started copying me. He would've never heard of Zeppelin, Floyd, Cream, The Doors, Yes, or The Who without me. Luckily he's only picked the common CR bands. Basically he's a faggot. Today he tells me that he bought a greatest hits cd of The Band from Best Buy. He's never heard a song by them. I made the mistake of mentioning The Last Waltz in front of him, and it was over. He would've never found out about them, ever, in his life, if I didn't tell him about that movie. And now he knows. Everyone I ask has never heard of The Band (except for you guys), and now my cousin knows them. My life is over. I am actually enraged right now, seeing red if you will. :upset: On a side note, I rule his ass at guitar, and I will always have that on him.
What's wrong with exposing your cousin to good music? |
maybe his cousin is the hated the family member
|

He has little brother complex - apparently he idolizes you and just wants to be exactly like you. |
I thought you haven't heard Happy TRails?
Lunch sent it to me. |
I like to horde all the good music for myself, but at the same time I try to make it known that I listen to great music. Hah I guess I'm a hypocrite.
|
Lunch sent it to me.
Stupid Lunch. |
Hmm I try not to be a musical elitist, but sometimes it's just so difficult...
|
anybody know where i can get a good "Mountain" t-shirt. I checked their site, but they only had one shirt, and it looked horrible. If u dont know who mountain is, the vocals and guitar are done by leslie west

for album intros Pink Floyd always takes the cake. It seems like they write an album, and then add a beginning and end to it to make it complete. One of These Days and Speak to Me (or does Breathe come first? i can never remember which is which) are my two favourite album openers. Although Strange Days is also a great opener. |

Same, especially when I hear some poor fool ranting on and on about how good musicianship Blink 182 has. |
It's Speak To Me/Breathe.

I've heard one song by Mountain, it was Nantucket Sleighride. I liked it a lot.
|
I like the intro on the first track on Led Zeppelin's first album. What a way to start

Good Times Bad Times? Its alright. |
Unclebobscircus reminded me of something, who's seen Spinal Tap?
It's mediocre, but it's got some funny parts. The amp that goes to 11 and the sustain on the guitar immediatly come to mind. |
Spinal Tap is one of the best rock movies ever made. Never question it's hilarity.
|
^Ive seen it but I didn't think it was that funny
|
I like "The Empereor of Wyoming" (cant spell) Neil Young's 1st song as a solo artist.
Edit: Oh and On the Beach > Harvest |
I thought it was sort of depressing after a while. Just cold and empty, maybe a little bit sad, they were just so pathetic/bad/washed up/ugly/old
