doesnt matter as long as they finish their god damn album!
When is it being released? Is it Summer? If so, I'm hoping it's the 19th of August, since that'd be my 20th Birthday, so I can celebrate both me becoming ancient and the release of the new holy album. :chug:

Mhm, they said they might be doing some festivals in the summer for it, but the album release is Oc tober-ish.

i doubt they'll tour again before the new album's released, they'll need a break. generally, i don't think they play songs before they're released.

crag 01-23-2006 11:04 AM

if i remember correctly, i watched an interview where Steve said they played Wildest Dreams before DoD was released

Lord Abortion 01-23-2006 02:22 PM

I don't know if they will play advance stuff or not...

crag 01-23-2006 03:21 PM

Hey Ollie. Care to add vocals to my little Trooper cover? I'll assume you don't need both guitar tracks to do it:)

Joey_ 01-23-2006 05:20 PM

They played Wildest Dreams all during the "Give Me Ed.." tour before DoD was released, with Bruce saying that they don't care if they put it on the 'net, as long as they buy the album if they like the tracks

i can upload both parts of CD2 if you like, you must listen to the trooper.....

the_uber_penguin 01-24-2006 04:36 AM

Having listened to it...is it just me or Blaze a better singer live?

I excepted him to butcher Hallowed and a few others, but he really didn't. Even if I do prefer Bruces versions of most of the songs.

Blaze > Hetfield and most metal singers (apart, perhaps from Serj Tankien (SOAD) who just kicks ***)

He may nnot have sung bruces songs too well, but his songs he sang magnicifintly(sp?), they should have just toured with his songs and an occasional bruce tune (ie. ATSS,the evil that men do)

the_uber_penguin 01-24-2006 08:34 AM

I think Blaze did the Bruce songs much better then a lot of people could have.

I remember hearing his studio versions of songs and thinking "Urg...", but I'm not so sure now. He's got a good live voice.

that would be great thanks:) it would be the one with all the Bruce songs that i couldn't manage to download:(

has anyone else noticed on the inlay cover it says 'Dave Murray-guitar and backing vocals' and it also calls Janick 'Janis' :p

Lord Abortion 01-24-2006 11:48 AM

I couldn't do it today, Tomorrow I'm actually coming in from school when I'm supposed to. So I'll do it then.

Don't sign up if you don't feel like it, but it would be nice.

So who is better Blaze or Paul? I wont factor Bruce in this because it's quite clear hes the favourite?

classicrockman 01-24-2006 09:18 PM
So who is better Blaze or Paul? I wont factor Bruce in this because it's quite clear hes the favourite?
Paul. I just love the early raw Maiden stuff. And Paul was the perfect voice for that stuff.

Dannyboy15 01-25-2006 01:18 AM

Paul is 1,000,000 times the vocalist Blazed ever could be. Paul and Bruce are almost neck & neck to me, but Bruce still wins.

-The Frank 01-25-2006 02:01 AM

Paul ftw. Seriously they're both great singers but paul had more energy and aggressive-ness. But for me it was probably more the music then the singing for the first two albums. Blaze were too slow and not fast paced enough. With paul i got to headbang all night long.

rippa32 01-25-2006 04:41 AM

Can someone please tell me what ftw stands for. As for the singer discussion I don't have any albums from either one but from what I've heard Paul is my favourite too, he actually has the odd similarity to bruce but it could be just Steve's melody writing.

ftw= for the win.

Ha, i was just looking through some past pages of this thread and i found around page 200 or something your were asking the same thing about which paul album to get. Stop stalling and start buying :thumb:

Mr_Bounce 01-25-2006 08:11 AM

Iron Maiden kicks complete and total ***. Their music is actually very simple when you get down to it, often using the exact same 3 chords they've used their careers, but they sure come up with incredible songs and riffs.

crag 01-25-2006 10:05 AM

Blaze is better than Paul IMO. i just like his deep emotional vocals so much more than Pauls rougher ones. Also Blaze had the difficult task of filling the shoes of the greatest metal vocalist ever, which he did excellently (even though many ignorant fools will disagree)
