What?.. Everyone I've known have started buying more and more cd's since they started downloading

I don't know anyone who prefers digital music to owning the album
I do, for example... everyone at my school except my group of friends.
No more David Bottrill producing?
If he is producing it, it sure has been kept a secret. Like I said, the audio reel labels clearly list Tool as the producer...curious.

Revenga 10-21-2005 01:45 PM

Hey everyone... I was wondering if anyone could post the mp3 of Sober... It disappeared from my computer for some reason, and I have no access to downloading software. If anyone could, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Daven 10-21-2005 01:46 PM

I can send you the song via email, just post your email and ill send it there.

Where have you seen them?

repcak 10-21-2005 03:27 PM

i listened to 2songs by Megadeth -> Dread and The Fugitive, Tornado of Souls.
the guitar work is fantastic, the vocals disgusting :upset:

Huber 10-21-2005 03:53 PM

Mustaine's voice isn't something that jumps out at you at first. I think it took a live video I have of them playing Hangar 18 that made me enjoy the vocals.

I completely agree with everything Trent Reznor said about the CD buying stuff. If a CD is worth it to me, I'll pay the money.

BlindWriting 10-21-2005 06:40 PM

I just bought and listened to Catch 33 by Meshuggah. Pretty damn good, very headbangable, but I'm glad that they're going to take a more song-based approach for the next album.

How do you figure?
How do you figure?
They've said it numerous times in interviews

Magicaltroll 10-22-2005 12:18 PM
They've said it numerous times in interviews
Hmmm... Maybe I should come in here more.

Can I find some of the interviews online anywhere?
And they straight out said "The DVD is coming out first"?

denboy 10-22-2005 12:41 PM

All I've got is from this thread, danney has said in a couple of interviews straight out that the dvd is coming out first yes

Static 10-22-2005 12:55 PM
All I've got is from this thread, danney has said in a couple of interviews straight out that the dvd is coming out first yes
I've heard him say that many times, and I think I can find one if I look hard enough.

BlindWriting 10-22-2005 01:39 PM

I think they said in the chat that the DVD and the new CD would coming relatively soon (I guess January 2006 or so), and that the DVD would come first.

YouGottaBeCrazy 10-22-2005 05:19 PM

When they said next year, I assumed it'd be more like May or June 2006. Are you sure about Janurary? If it's coming out in 3 months, why haven't we heard any more information about the album? The first single? The name of the album? Sorry, just being skeptical...

repcak 10-22-2005 05:23 PM

that would mean that we have to wait at least more than a half year for the new tool-album.... :upset:

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-22-2005 05:41 PM

Man, I listened to Lateralus today. I remember hearing Lateralus for the first time. That feeling is seriously something that I have yet to replicate. I can recall the weather, the scent, (obviously the sound)everything. I can't wait for the new album. Just to feel that similair sensation will be amazing.

Otherside 10-22-2005 05:55 PM
I doubt we'll get a new album before mid-2006 for that reason as well. Tool may want to surprise us, but seriously...news would leak from somewhere, quite probably the label. They couldn't keep something as big as a new Tool album secret from the public. Bear in mind that the new Tool album will probably be one of the biggest albums of next year, so the label will want to make some major profit on it.

Just out of interest, can anyone fill me in on a connectionbetween Tool and the Melvins? When I was writing the FA on Mike Patton, I saw that all 4 members of Tool appear on a song on one of their albums (it's track 7, but I don't remember the album name). It's in the FA if anyone's interseted, but I was just wondering what the link is, and whether it's actually true.
Right now all I can remember is that on the track You Lied from Salival, one of the Melvins played guitar along with Adam. That's all I got :\

I think we can get a good idea of when to expect some news based on what the band did with Lateralus. Compare the release date of the album with the release date of "Schism." Possibly, also when it was announced what the album was going to be called, etc.
If it's coming out in 3 months, why haven't we heard any more information about the album? The first single? The name of the album? Sorry, just being skeptical...
Because this is Tool, not Metallica. I'm sure they will keep the low down on this album for as long as possible...

Adam Jones is GOD 10-22-2005 06:47 PM
Right now all I can remember is that on the track You Lied from Salival, one of the Melvins played guitar along with Adam. That's all I got :\
Adam frequently plays guitar with the Melvins, and King Buzzo is a big friend of the band.

Check out the recording pictures for Buzzo in action with a 9mm

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-22-2005 06:48 PM

I think Adam played guitar with The Melvins for a while, and now King Buzzo is in the recording studio with Tool. The only connection that Blair has given us is that both Tool and King Buzzo like to have barbecues.

True. Janurary is still pretty damn close.

Sorry about the page deformation. New pictures up on Adam's space.

And perhaps new lyrics. /wets self

Mmm, perhaps new Tool lyrics?

I'm not sure how exactly they first came into contact, but the song you're thinking of is Divorced. I have it on that Tool bootleg I bought a while back. It's about nine minutes long and features a big drum battles between Danny Carey and the Melvins' drummer about midway through. It's interesting.

It is the s t i l l n e s s of death
but also the s t i l l n e s s from which both of them

which is the pregnant s t i l l n e s s of R E S H:
that s o m e t h i n g which connects us all to the eternal
And perhaps new lyrics. /wets self
Yes, there's just a chance that they're lyrics. Someone mentioned that the pictures are for the new "video" which would mean that this "Frozenlife" song(the name of the blog was Frozenlife) would be the new single, which would mean that the song may be on it's way to radio stations.

Speculation++
