Built to Spill - Perfect From Now On
It's growing on me but I'm still disappointed. If they knew when to end some of their songs then the album would be much better. |
Amina- Animaamina
It's been awhile since I listened to this one, and it's still nice and relaxing. Amina is the group of girls who sometimes plays with Sigur Ros, btw. |
Kayo Dot - Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue
this never gets old, but I just realized how goofy the lyrics are. |
wtf.
they're notgoofyatall. |
Has anyone heard The Medications? Very similar to Faraquet. I would check out Your Favorite People All In One Place... I'm really digging this album right now.
|
Deerhoof. I love this band so much.

They're playing in a really small venue in DC in February... I really wanna go I just need someone to drive me down haha. |
I lost my indie cred because I had a chance to see deerhoof for free and I passed on it.
Same with sunn0))) and Devendra Banhart. |
suck0)))
|
Or does that improve your indie cred?
|
I'm not saying there good. I'm saying that there's probably a few people on this forum that would scold me for the missed opportunity for any of those bands.
=0 The other two acts are acceptable to miss but NOT Deerhoof! |
Squirrel Bait
The Knife Wolf Eyes The New Pornographers
I lost my indie cred because I had a chance to see deerhoof for free and I passed on it. Same with sunn0))) and Devendra Banhart.
pshhhhhh @ you. i'd kill to see them for free. |

I'm going to go, where do you live? |
I've really been digging Either/Or. It just clicked with me immediately. I also bought Roman Candle, which is awesome as well but not as perfect. Elliott Smith will be one of my favorites soon, surely.

Major Stars - Synopticon
It's pretty great, has some really awesome triple guitar parts. |

Me too! I just got Either/Or and am listening to it at this very moment. He's already one of my favorites though. I think he's number 2 on my Last.FM |

The EP's pretty awesome, but the album's kinda hit or miss. |
The new Ghostface is hot. By which I mean it is going to be hot...
I'm also digging this new collab between Zion I and The Grouch entitled Heroes In The City Of Dope. It's nothing revolutionary, but it's refreshingly real hip hop. |
True post all around, Jon. I've been trying to get people to listen to Heros in the City of Dope for awhile now. It will grow on you big time.
You should check out High and Mighty - 12th Man. It's some good ****. |
Checking out.

Been checking out ol' Nick Drake, recently. Good shi

Yellow Swans - Psychic Sessions
Therapeutic, yet abrasive droning. I'm going to be doing some potentially noisy atmospheric flourishes in my friend's recording, so I'm trying to hear more and be inspired. I'm also looking into a few more technical means of getting it done. Any tips on non-musical items used for the creation of music? |
Einstürzende Neubauten do a lot of that. Not sure if that's the kind of thing you're thinking of, but they may well give you a few ideas, at least.

Yo La Tengo - I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass
Cursive - Happy Hollow things |
Television - Marquee Moon
This is a such a great listen, especially the title track. |
Slowdive - Pygmalion
Beautiful, quite different frm Souvlaki. |
Ryan Adams - Love is Hell
Cat Power - Moon Pix |
Sun Kil Moon- Ghosts of the Great Highway
It's a classic album now. :) |
The Replacements- "Pleased to Meet Me"
amazing album, minus "I Didn't Know", "Nightclub Jitters" and "Shooting Dirty Pool". those tracks are horrid. |
q and not u - different damage
|
The French Kicks- "Trial of the Century"
dreamy. |
The 25 minute version of The Diamond Sea on the new Sonic Youth.
|
Yann Tiersen - L'Absente
I love this man, but I think I like his compositions alone better than hearing people sing with his playing (even if it is in French). Nevertheless, this album's nice. |
Burial - Burial
Beck - Midnite Vultures So Many Dynamos - Flashlights The Dillinger Escape Plan - Calculating Infinity The Knife - Deep Cuts The New Pornographers - Electric Version
Deftones - Saturday Night Wrist still digging this. Still hurts my throat to listen to "Rapture". Killer fucking track.
i like Rapture. the yelling is catchy. |
