Ahh i see, i think most of MX members are from US, right? i wish there are other Indonesian/Asians here.. Are they?
I'm 19 btw, damn i feel old..:p ,
well... not the oldest. i am 20 1/2 and live in europe. i think i am the only one from austria here :smash:

back to the religious debate:
first of all, i do understand I'm Charmings opinion that religious ppl are ill... i too think the same way, but only about ppl who are really conservative and strict f.e.: go every sunday to church and pray every day. i'm sorry to say that but i can only sneer at such ppl and laugh at them!

one of the main reasons i don't like religions at all is the fact that in the name of god a lot of war were fought -> in the middle ages: christians; now: moslems; even jews aren't better. every religion has/had it war!
the only religion i have deep respect of is the (well its more a philosophy than religion) philosophy of buddhism. i read a lot about it and i believe in reincarnation.

btw. back to the topic of hell... do you really think hell is a bad place? imagine who you will meet there? Alexi Laiho, Robert Plant, Marilyn Manson, etc. :chug:
Oscar Wilde once said: "Die klimatischen Bedingungen in der Hölle sind sicher unerfreulich, aber die Gesellschaft dort wäre von Interesse." (translation: the climatic conditions in hell are unpleasant, but the society would be of interest. :p )
Umm. A lot are from/live in Europe.

There are plenty from Aussieland.
I'd say most are from North America, closely followed by the UK.

I have noticed a heap of new users that are from Australia. Not too many that have been here a while though.

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 03-31-2006 07:50 AM

Well i beleive in god and i think some of the stuff ive read from you guys is wrong,oh and repcak u dont know if youll see any of those ppl down there they could get right b4 they die and go to heaven. Everyone is entitled to beleive what they want tho :-),not going to comment on anyone else some pp,l on here arent worth commenting on

kurrpt 03-31-2006 07:54 AM

i think too many of you guys are confusing someones 'belief' system, and religion.

Im a believer, but i wouldnt really say im religious

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 03-31-2006 08:05 AM

Well i dont go to church or anything and i dont pray all the time i rarely pray, but i beleive :-)

kurrpt 03-31-2006 08:12 AM
Well i dont go to church or anything and i dont pray all the time i rarely pray, but i beleive :-)
honestly, i see it as one of those people that believe hes "all around" us. I dont think i have to actually address him to know hes there or listening. I also think the big guy is looking out for me.

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 03-31-2006 08:18 AM

Same here,i dont understand why alot of people dont beleive in him tho to me its so obvious hes real lol but to alot of people they dont see it that way

Invicta_Veritas 03-31-2006 08:25 AM

<<<<debates on whether to speak or sit this one out.

kurrpt 03-31-2006 08:26 AM

i think too many people want friggin evidence, in writing that they can feel, taste, touch, eat it, and pass it through their lower intestines

to me, my faith is undeniable. Like ive said to others, there have been events that remove any shred of doubt from my mind. To me its obvious. I can kind of understand how people would be skeptical, but i think its all your interpretation of an event that just seems "beyond you"

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 03-31-2006 08:29 AM

Yes exactly i agree with everything you just said, nothing tho that i can think of has really happened to me in that way but it has to people in my family, especially when my grandmother was in the hospital dieing

Invicta_Veritas 03-31-2006 08:33 AM

Oh, f*ck it, here goes.

I don't need proof, I don't need anything tangible, and I don't need anything from anybody to tell me whether I am justified or not in believing. Too many people ask for proof, and for some things, there just isn't, or won't be for a very long time.

Conversely, I do have very big issues with most organized religions, because I, like many smart people, recognize the historical inaccuracy, philosophical flaws, and hypocrisy of certain religions......

A lot of people ask me how I can be Jewish and still harbor Pagan beliefs, yet I feel I have the right to criticize other religions. Like always, I have to explain to them that original belief in Yahweh does not bar one from believing in the forces of nature that God created as well......Pagan may have been translated by Christians as "Satanic", but the true flaws exist within invented religions, ones that came long after the original ones were there.

There's my two cents.

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 03-31-2006 08:37 AM

I would like to see the Dead Sea Scrolls

repcak 03-31-2006 08:47 AM

don't misunderstood me... i see a difference between people who "believe" (in something) and those who are (only) "religious".
i have only problems with the "religious" type, who think that through going to church, praying, etc. they will go to heaven, be good people and so on.

A person who "believe" don't need a church, he doesn't have to pray and for him it doesn't matter if there exist hell or heaven ... i have a deep respect in front of those! and there exist even this persons in the walls of religious institution ... the last pope was for me such a person.

for me god doesn't exist in the common sense. for me its not a person on a cloud watching down on us. i think that stupid and therefore its stupid that there are so many religious institutions! how said before i read a lot about buddhism and i believe it. i don't know if it can be called "god" or not, for me its everything, its the whole universe and therefore i don't have to pray, to go to church ... i have to be 'clean' (?) with myself.... and as long as i am clean with myself i can insult religious instution without having a bad conscience;

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 03-31-2006 08:51 AM

I pray sometimes i dont go to church but sometimes i watch it on t.v i beleive there is a heaven and hell, a person could go to church and pray there whole life and still go to hell u dont have to go to church to go to heaven but u have to beleive in god and beleive he died on the cross for your sin, thats what i believe.I have been saved but i havent been baptised i prolly need to be tho and alot of christians beleive that even if you are saved and baptised that u can still go to hell if u just keep doing bad things example marilyn manson,he was saved and baptised but he did alot of bad things and prolly hasnt asked for forgiveness for any of it.

kurrpt 03-31-2006 08:54 AM

i really dont try to question peoples motives for the every week church goer. Honestly, some people need to hear that every week. I on the other, dont feel i need to

repcak 03-31-2006 09:09 AM

ah... yeah, you're from the us... there you can see it on tv ... we don't have this in europe, thank god :p

@lil: i don't want to insult you, when you believe it and live with it, do it... but its exactly one of this things i can't cope with. i believe in jesus and he was a great man, a wise man, i respect him, but i don't believe it the way the bible write about him. he died on the cross for our sins... lol. c'mon, he died the same way as socrates died. he believed in something and he believed it so much that even death couldn't scare him.
and about sins in general... you don't have to ask for forgivness! you have to ask forgivness with yourself. as long as you are not "clean" in your soul it doesn' matter if a pope will say: "i forgive you"; for me thats bullshit.

and such things like heaven and hell doesn't exist... and even when they exist, i wanna be rather in hell than in heaven!

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 03-31-2006 09:14 AM

good for you

Sleepy 03-31-2006 09:35 AM

Religion is not a really good forum topic...it can lead to tons of misunderstandings and people can take offense to it extremely easily.

So let's move on to something else...?
