Zombie Ritual is the only "zombie death" band I remember liking at all.

Dimmu Burger 07-30-2008 02:24 PM
i'm checking them out right now, which is how i could say "we're a lot less "black" metal than they are" :)

i am not crazy about this, i dont like the vocals or the keys :(
They aren't bad IMO. A friend of my wife is in that band. I like how they say all over the page "True Zombie Metal". It's all kindsa cheesy.

Pete 07-30-2008 02:25 PM

we're pretty straight forward death metal, about zombies. some horror-inspired riffs, i guess, but def no synths
They aren't bad IMO. A friend of my wife is in that band. I like how they say all over the page "True Zombie Metal". It's all kindsa cheesy.
nah, not bad, but when i dont like half of the sound (in this case, vocals and keys) it's not good either. imo.

which is sad, because i really wanted to like them, i love the concept.

Dimmu Burger 07-30-2008 02:26 PM

It is a fun idea to center your band around one theme, like Alestorm!! Pirate metal!! Yarrr!!

Tyler 07-30-2008 02:28 PM

Hah, Alestorm are so awful.

Pete 07-30-2008 02:28 PM

didnt Running Wild do that first though?

yeah, it's fun when it's a "joke" band or side project, like Zombie Apocalypse for example (though i think theyre better than the actual Hulud)

RetiredAt21 07-30-2008 02:31 PM

Recently Vacated Graves has the worst synths, ever. Sounded like an old as **** Nintendo game.

Dimmu Burger 07-30-2008 02:31 PM
Hah, Alestorm are so awful.
Oh c'mon dude, you have no sense of fun!
Oh c'mon dude, you have no sense of fun!
Dimmu Burger 07-30-2008 02:32 PM

Yeah I think its just two dudes when they have time off from their real band.

repcak 07-30-2008 02:34 PM
Eww.
repcaks post inspired me

"Some of my friends are Alestorm fans" => "All of my best friends are metalheads"

repcak 07-30-2008 02:41 PM

yes?

Pete 07-30-2008 02:46 PM

the wording in the sentence

"Some of my friends are Alestorm fans"

is quite similar to the wording in the sentence

"All of my best friends are metalheads"

thus i posted a link of the video of the song with that title

free association

repcak 07-30-2008 02:49 PM

ah ok... I haven't clicked on the link.

Pete 07-30-2008 02:50 PM

don't, it's a pretty crap song

nostalgia++ for me, but it is pretty crappy

upon the evil side of man

poisoned with impurity

frigid earth devoid of light begins to rot and die

angels fall their wings decayed
their hyms of praise sung from the graves
unspoken prayers cease to comfort
the objects of his rage...

Am currently thoroughly enjoying Intestine Baalism "The Energumenus" Demo (1994). Anyone else have this slice of depraved sickness? Highly recommended.

The demo is awesome. Their albums are much better though, especially Banquet in the Darkness.

DBlitz 08-01-2008 04:23 AM

Banquet in the Darkness is awesome

thats an interesting demo/band... probably would prefer the demo to their albums still wouldn't rate it that highly though

rasputin 08-01-2008 04:52 AM

the demo and the albums aren't vastly different, why would you prefer the demo over the albums?

Jondur 08-01-2008 05:05 AM
Their albums are much better though, especially Banquet in the Darkness.
Maybe but I got the demo first (eleventymillionth generation tape) so I like it best. So there! :p

Haven't actually listened to it for years but I've dug out one of my many boxes of tapes and had a listen to some old faves. Up next is Unanimated.

rasputin 08-01-2008 05:09 AM

ah ok, fair enough then

Malfeitor 08-01-2008 06:35 AM

because the demo is better....
look at suffocation and all their clones. not vastly different but clearly one is better than the other
