i believe it should be ready and released by the summer, at least that was the news posted on maidenfans.com last year. then hopefully a tour starting in the Autumn.

the album's meant to be a concept along the lines of 7th son of the 7th son, which, incidentally, i've been listening to a fair bit lately. i love Only the good die young, especially the bass solo after the first guitar solo. well, more like a really cool independent bassline.
I read an interview from Nicko in September saying they'd be writing/recording early/mid 06 and it would be released late 06...

shadow_stalker 01-20-2006 05:22 PM
seen them twice already :p. my 11 year old brother wants to see them next time, he'll be 12 by then, and if it's at Newcastle the pit won't be too bad, i'll just have to try and keep him near me so i don't lose him.
Josh your supposed to try and lose him, push him into the middle area where the serious moshers are...although you may never see him again then

i will come see Maiden this time damnit, i was pissed that i couldnt go a couple years ago when they played newcastle

rippa32 01-20-2006 05:27 PM

Do they put on a good show? Either way Im going if they come to Australia and if they don't I could always try a petition :thumb:

They do, they try and keep it personal aswell. As when I saw them live, Steve and Bruce try and make eye contact with everyone near the pit. There are bands who have fancier stage shows, but the general atmosphere is amazing.

the_uber_penguin 01-20-2006 06:03 PM

I remember Davey giving me a grin and a thumbs up as I air guitared along to Hallowed when I saw them.

They put on one of the greatest shows ever. Tons of energy, and as ash said, they keep it rather personal.

If you're seriouse, thats pretty awesome.

rippa32 01-21-2006 12:29 AM

Whats there music like live? I noticed they have released alot of live albums.

Unhappy_poet/bassist 01-21-2006 01:46 AM

Come join me and worship God AKA Steve Harris.

A-S-S-H-A-T 01-21-2006 01:49 AM

I personally see no point in releasing live cds.
The point of live shows is to see your heros on stage in person, and usually the quality is terrible. Of course they always throw in some extras and altered solos but meh.
Live dvds I somewhat understand though... just because you actually see them putting on the show.

rippa32 01-21-2006 05:10 AM

Well usually I love Live CD's cos the pace is generally a bit faster and theres more energy as well as the mentioned extras. I was just curious as to how maiden do live musically.

the_uber_penguin 01-21-2006 07:41 AM

They're very good. They play tightly with lots of energy and fun around it. They like to have the crowd noise fairly prominent as well, which is cool.

Only downside to the live CD's is that Bruce tends to sing better on the studio recordings, IMO.

ha, they havent been to australia since the FOTD tour. Dont give up hope though.
In March, Iron Maiden will start recording the new studio album.
In May, Bruce will release his double solo DVD.
During the summer, there's a possibility of festival dates before the release of the album.
October might be the month for the release of the new studio album and the start of the album tour.
In 2007, Iron Maiden may return to Brazil and South America
podbassist 01-21-2006 02:49 PM

do you think they'll play at ozzfest again this year or no just because fo that **** that sharon pulled. ****in sharon:angry: if they dont play at ozzfest again because of her im gonna be pissed

Lord Abortion 01-21-2006 02:52 PM

I think they'll play Gigantour...just a hunch.

crag 01-21-2006 04:07 PM

ooh, i can't wait until October.

/jumps around excitedly

PepsiMetal 01-21-2006 05:39 PM

They probably won't play ozzfest or gigantour. Unless megadeth doesn't perform and let's maiden headline. It would be stupid if megadeth headlined and maiden didn't.

vashts80 01-21-2006 06:21 PM

I'd prefer Maiden and Megadeth co-headline. The only other band I'd want to see co-headline is Blind Guardian or Opeth.

rippa32 01-21-2006 07:03 PM

I thought that last year was the last time for Ozzfest? Maybe I heard wrong or something, but I don't think they would even be asked again to do it.

Lord Abortion 01-21-2006 07:25 PM

No, Maiden wouldn't go to Ozzfest ever again.

rippa32 01-21-2006 07:47 PM

Yes well either way its just not going to happen.

-The Frank 01-21-2006 09:57 PM

Meh, if they are going to do any festivals they are most likely not going to happen in the US :(
