The Sandman 03-31-2006 04:30 AM

Some of the greatest bloodshed's in history have been because of religion.

Loner: If the last line was in anyway directed at me then, sure.

I'm Charming 03-31-2006 04:31 AM
wow, i don't know how to responds to that... It seems to me that your mind is already set about this... I'm not going to judge you or anything.. I am asian, and from where i came from, religion is quite important.. However, i do understand that people has different perspectives about this.. It's just never occured to me that someone has such a negative view about God.. But anyway, it's just a matter of different beliefs, i guess... Let's just leave it that way, shall we???:chug:
We don't need to argue on points where neither will give in. No. :chug:

Correct me if I'm wrong,

I've always understood Asian culture to be very much geared towards respecting and learning from ones, family, past, country and ancestors. I've always understood religion and spirituality to be a tool used in guiding such.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

For the record.
I reject all religions including Satanism.

Another issue I have is,

Each religon claims to be the "true & real one".
If you ask a christian, they would say their church is wrong and "jewish faith followers will go to hell since they don't believe in the right god". Muslems would say, they have the right answers and christians are wrong.

If they all claim to the be the right one, how do I know who's lying and for real?
They can't "all be the right one".

The Sandman 03-31-2006 04:34 AM

Hence my reference to us all going to this alleged(sp?) hell

I'm Charming 03-31-2006 04:34 AM

I believe being a good person is something you became over time. You really grow and learn you whole life.

Values are beliefs you gain through experiances and how they impacted you as a human being.

I don't see it as something you can "ask for and be granted'.

I see it as continued self growth over time and something that's shaped.

Well. lets say we're all wrong here.

We wind up in this hell.
You gotta realize, strippers and sluts will be there too. So I don't think it'd be all bad. :p

I can't find the edit botton. Sorry.

The Sandman 03-31-2006 04:43 AM

I'm guilty of doing it as well...the edit button's proving to be terribly elusive tonight.

I don't speak for every Catholics or anything, but in my country (Indonesia that is) we never said that our religion is the truest, or anything like that.. That's why i feel comfortable being a Catholic as i am right now.. I have many friends from all different religions, even the atheists ones and we get along just fine...

I'm Charming 03-31-2006 04:47 AM
Correct

Alright good. I like it be correct. :thumb:

Alright. I've never met you, your friends nor your church so I can't speak to that exactly.

It's been told to me many a time by people I've known. From different religions that if you were "fill in the blank" you're the same as a "heathen" since you didn't "take jesus as your savoir and ask for your sins to be forgiven" in their context.
That's exactly how i feel.. Being a good person is all that matters... You could go to church everyday, and still doing bad things.. It comes down to the person, i think..

I'm Charming 03-31-2006 04:53 AM
That's exactly how i feel.. Being a good person is all that matters... And religion is just a way for me to achieve that..
Alright. I won't argue with your personal beliefs.

I just feel that being a good person is something learned over time and you change as you grow older. You have many experiences in life and that's what shapes your personality. How you're impacted by "said event" changes your outlook to however you see it.

wtf wtf wtf...omgz... An intelligent debate in the CoB thread tonight, was there a miracle?

The Sandman 03-31-2006 05:01 AM

Everyone must have got the wrong thread.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I know everyone already knew that but I thought I'd state it again to make this slightly more meaningful.

Everything would be boring if we all had the same thoughts, idea's and beliefs.

Torrent? is it some kind of P2P program? Anyway, my homestay folks wouldn't let me use P2P program to download stuff, so...
I have Are You Dead Yet? and some of the songs are good, and the others aren't so much.. The other CoB song that i've heard are Needled 24/7 and Bed Of razors, love both of them...:thumb:

It's p2p in a sense, though a tad different. To answer what your parents would ask, yes you're pirating copyrighted music, games, movies etc etc.

AYDY is CoB's weakest effort, though it's good.

Bed Of Razors is on Hatebreeder. Which is their second best album.
Needled 24/7 is on Hate Crew Deathroll.
HCDR has some of their heaviest and best works on it.
Hatebreeder is much lighter and more lead guitar oriented. Not that HCDR isn't by any means. :p

CoB's best album would be Follow The Reaper. It has an incredle amount of great guitar leads/solos and keyboard work. It's the album that combines guitar and keys the best.

i take your words for it, since you seems like a CoB fanboy:p , i would just buy any of their older albums, as long as it cheap, though...:p

The Sandman 03-31-2006 05:22 AM

Yeah, I agree with I'm Charming. Follow the Reaper is the way to go. Then probably Hate Crew Deathroll. Hatebreeder is also brilliant but is fairly similiar to FtR.

On a completely different note...my parents aren't letting me go out and do stuff with friends and stay at some chick's house whom I admittedly don't know but all my friends do. So they're not letting me go because they don't know her parents and presume I'm going to get knifed/raped by them.

Hate Me! is sounding really good at the moment...

That I am. I'm IMO the number 1 CoB fanboy on these boards. Mitch (MrDuCran) would be second. Ben (ShadowsFallen) third. Though we'd all fight to the death for that title.

Get Follow The Reaper since it's a blend of Hatebreeder and HCDR. It was inbetween those releases.

Then if you like leads/solos more go with Hatebreeder next, if you want heavy go with HCDR.

Your a guy right?

If so... Wow. That's a good laugh.

The Sandman 03-31-2006 05:28 AM

Yes I am a guy.

I think I'll try and completely ignore my parents tomorrow. Just for kicks.

But now I'm off to bed. Night peoples.

haha. If you read this before you go to sleep.

Just scream RAPPPPPPE. In the middle of tonight. Watch your parents jump up and run to your room. Then just say you had a bad dream.

You gotta shreik it too. No deep male voice.

or just yell burglar. That won't fail either.

Concubine 03-31-2006 05:34 AM

No. I don't know any MXers in real life. I chat with a few on AIM though.

I'm 17, my first year of college and I'm living in Oregon, US. Though Oregon is awful. The people are wretched.

I'll move back to Cali once I have funds.
