The Doors are pretty hit-or-miss for me. I really need to be in the mood to listen to them, and some of their material is fairly unlistenable.
You just dislike all music don't you? :( /kidding but you do dislike a LOT of what we talk about. |
I like The Doors, but I find that sometimes they tend to bore me.

5 to 1

What songs do you like by them? |
5 to 1
LA Woman When the Music is Over Peace Frog Alabama Song Just to name the first five songs that came to mind.
for a while I was obsessed with 5 to 1 and When the Music is Over |
Away from the Doors for a second. Did the band Steelers Wheel do anything worth listening to besides "Stuck In The Middle With You"? I love that song because it always reminds of that scene from Resivoir Dogs.
|
I used to like the Doors. Not so much anymore. Psychadelia and simulated masturbation just isn't as cool as it used to be.
Elvis is not a theif nor was he the first man to make White people like Black music. I believe the first Jazz album was created by a White band.
As far as Rock n Roll goes, Whites did not steal it from Black people. Rock music is actually pretty equal between both races. Rock n Roll = White Melodies (Country) + Black Rhythm (Blues) Elvis combined those two elements. Also, if you trace music back far enough, you'd be amazed how much White Folk music influenced Blues. /recap
I highly doubt the first jazz album was created by white men I think it was some black dixieland group in the 1910's. |
Those are good songs, I don't like riders of the Storm very much though, what's your fav album of them
You don't like riders on the storm? |
Riders on the storm is the best.

Riders on the Storm is my favorite song by The Doors. I also like Strange Days, People Are Strange, The End, When The Music's Over, and mostly everything else. Too many to name at least.
And I'll be sure to check out the FA. |
Thanks man,
I'm listening to Moby Grape now, pretty amazing band. "What's To Choose" |
I highly doubt the first jazz album was created by white men I think it was some black dixieland group in the 1910's.
Well, it was supposably by a Dixieland group in 1917 who were White. They were named the original Dixieland Jazz Band. |
What about ragtime? Does that count as jazz or what?
|
No, Ragtime is a seperate (though occasionally similar) genre.
|
Oh.
|
Well, it was supposably by a Dixieland group in 1917 who were White. They were named the original Dixieland Jazz Band.
Them just aint telling the truth they stealing music from a poor little negro out in them streets. *the sarcastic truth^* |
That's true actually.
|
Them just aint telling the truth they stealing music from a poor little negro out in them streets.
*the sarcastic truth^*
No, I highly doubt they weren't original. |
Jazz = Black peoples
Country = White peoples Lets just leave it that way. We whites cant take credit for Jazz its just not right. |
What is the point to anything you have said? Each race played a huge role in each genre.
|
How did they in country?
|
Zappa was a hugely influencial WHITE jazz artist..so..yeah..
|
What is the point to anything you have said? Each race played a huge role in each genre.
Yes but it seems you are trying to take away the creditt that blacks have for Jazz. Sorry for the understanding. |
How did they in country?
It is said that Black plantations slaves invented the banjo. |
Yes but it seems you are trying to take away the creditt that blacks have for Jazz. Sorry for the understanding.
No, I was backing up a comment I said about Whites having a place in the Jazz world. Since the early years their have been White Jazz bands (Not the first Jazz bands, but none the less White Jazz Bands). You are trying to serperate them (Ultimatley kind of making you racist), while I'm showing how each race plays a role in each other races genre. |
Well, it was supposably by a Dixieland group in 1917 who were White. They were named the original Dixieland Jazz Band.
I was pretty sure it was 1917 and a dixieland group but I was pretty sure they were black. Ah well. |
