It's easy aye.
Maybe I should learn the solos?

btoto 03-07-2005 10:40 AM

Chu
----

Yeah, they're very easy. It's just I'm already sick off learning 'tallica. It was interesting when I just picked up guitar but now I'm more into writing my own stuff.

Although you should learn Jump In The Fire solos. They gave me a few ideas about improvising.

Chu 03-07-2005 10:57 AM

Well, the reason I haven't tried the solos, I'm kinda new to guitar, only been playing since the beginning of this year, but I've been on MX long enough to pick up a number of different pointers.
I can play Jump In The Fire until the first verse, I'm still kinda learning it, well, there are a few parts I'm not great with timing, an example being:

|------------3-|
|------------3-|
|------------1-|
|-1-3-3-1-3---|

Anyway, I'm petty sure you know the part I'm talking about. Begins around 0:22 Mark I believe.

btoto 03-07-2005 11:17 AM

Chu, Ok, wait............let me check

Oh here it is:

I tabbed this song by ear, so that's how I play it:

1)--------------------------|------------------------------|
2)--------------------------|------------------------------|
3)--------------3-----------|---------------5-x-x-x--6-----|
4)--------------3---3-3-5--|----------------5-x-x-x--6----|
5)--------------1---3-3-5--|----------------3-x-x-x--4----|
6)-1-3-3-1-3-1-----1-1-3--|--1-3-3-1-3-1-----------------|

3 times x = palm mute that chord 3 times

:thumb:

Chu 03-07-2005 11:27 AM

Yeah, that's it.
I can do it, just not real speed, at the moment at least.
I'm just playing the same thing over and over, building up speed :)

btoto 03-07-2005 11:36 AM

Chu
----

Well, if you've been playing since the begining of this year it's OK. Speed will come after you practice a lot. And remember, playing guitar 3-4 hours every day is much more useful than picking it up on a weekend and playing till night. So, good luck !

Thanks man :)

does anyone know the correct solos to traped under ice?

fenderbender89 03-07-2005 12:08 PM
does anyone know the correct solos to traped under ice?
go to Mxtabs.

fenderbender89 03-07-2005 12:12 PM

I have a really good feeling that Metallica IS going to have solos are their new album. :thumb:
I just saw SKOM it was cool.
on the bonus disc theres a clip of metallica playing with some rapper and on the song they showed Kirk playing a kick *** solo for the song! I think Kirk can still pull off those solos for the new album. :thumb:

Chu 03-07-2005 12:29 PM

Probably, but in my opinion it's just gonna be wah abuse.
Thus useless. But whatever pleases the masses, I guess.

no solos for any of the trapped under ice versions they have. i think they're cool and really want to learn em. anybody hook me up?

as for solo's on a new album, i think they all know they ****ed up with St. Anger, and i think there will be solos on the new one.
Easiest Metallica song on guitar? (Don't worry bassists, your time will come soon).

I think it's without a doubt Jump In The Fire.
Edit: That's not including solos, I just don't do solos to be honest.
im thinking "Enter Sandman"

In my experiences Wherever I May Roam has proved to be pretty basic. Turn the Page also, tho im not sure if covers count for this topic.

Pisungen 03-07-2005 02:11 PM

There are so many fairly accurate Tab websites that are free, why would you spend money for maybe 1 corrected note?

It's not tabs it's nodes... Sheet music...

Edit: Oh and by the way... I didn't pay... my sponsor pays stuff like sheet music and software ;)

Huber 03-07-2005 02:46 PM

Sometimes people just prefer sheet music. I definetly prefer it for drums, but I like tabs for guitar better.

To everyone... BUY THE REAL TAB BOOK! It's definitely worth it. They have everything that both Kirk, James, and any other recorded guitar part plays. It's most definitely worth the money.

and thanks for the vote in the Feb thingie :thumb:

Just because he likes those songs does not mean he is a poser

I bought the AJFA tab book... and blackened was incorrect... that really pissed me of... since then I've always tabbed my own music...

I was looking for a bass one in my local shop the other day and all I could find was reload :upset:
I've got MOP, and I havn't found any mistakes, worth getting I would say.
yeah i've got it too and it's helped with the solos a lot. some of the rythem parts in it are incorrect i've noticed, like the pre chours riff in the title track has one part that's not right. that's really about it i think.

as for the poser thing, man he may just be new to this. i know that i recently started listening to venom and the only songs i know are the ones that are "popular" (black metal, to hell in back, heavens on fire). that doesn't make me a poser does it?

I've got RTL and MOP and they are both perfect
