Go Ben! Sorry that you got to sleep in later for a few days.

99% certain of a sale on my Matamp stack tomorrow. Happy and sad in one big mess :/
|
Wow, we went a week without a post here. Over, actually. :/
|
Yup.
|
This place sucks guys. We all know it.

I considered making it a point to stimulate conversation by posting a question or interesting topic at least once a day. Then I just said "eff it, nobody will respond."
But seriously, how is everyone? What's been up? |
I've just bought a shitload of gym stuff, haha
we have a spare bit of space in the house so i'm gonna use it to work on my guns and shit ;D seriously though, i'm gonna go pretty hardcore on some exercise and better eating for a while - i've put 3 and a half stone on since i left education and started my job 3 years ago, and i could do with reversing it :( |

Damn, son. Turn it into muscle, pronto! I've been going to the gym for the past two months for an hour, three times a week. I've definitely noticed my endurance has gone up, but I haven't been slimming down like I'd hoped I would. |
I don't get it. We tend to use metric for everything except body weight in general, haha. I'm pretty old fashioned though, cuz I use imperial for distances and stuff as well as weight. Isn't it usually Americans that use imperial more?
Anyway... Yeah, I think it depends what you've been doing at the gym. I've been doing shitloads of research on exercise and stuff, and I've basically come to the conclusion that I'm going to stop doing treadmills and things like that as part of my routine, but that's not to say I'll never use them or go for a run or anything. They just don't seem that effective for weight loss and stuff. |
I want an exercise bike so I can do cardio at home whenever it suits me.

Go check out liquidation stores. They always seem to have exercise equipment in good condition for considerably less than the new price. Of course, your local classifieds are always a good bet too. We just got rid of our elliptical machine. There's really no good place for it in the house and it was stuck on the highest resistance and incline settings, so you'd be dead tired after 10 minutes on that thing. You couldn't even work cardio on it. |
Hey America, can you do me a favour and machine-gun the next batch of Occupy protesters that pop up.
|
Our old drummer is so into this zeitgeist movement shit its unreal. its all fucking bullshit and i hate it. all his facebook thingys are about it, and commenting on occupy _____ photos and things. drives me nuts.

There's an Occupy Phoenix happening. I live in Phoenix. I stood behind it at first, but now it's just getting annoying and the lack of official demands and the lack of education among most of the supporters is really only hurting the movement. |

Been there tried that, hurts your gluteus maximus unless it's a really nice seat. And really nice seats cost money. In other news, I now have a Bogner Alchemist. This thing rocks. $3000 new, got it for $1200 second hand but in mint condition. Everything looks like it has come straight from the shop! Supposedly has a 2 and a half years left on the warranty, but I don't think he realized that the shop he bought it from sells non transferable warranties. |
I think it's extremely rare for musical equipment to have transferable warranties.
I think it's extremely rare for musical equipment to have transferable warranties.
Most cars don't even allow the transferring of warranties. My Hyundai has a 5-year, 100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. Only the latter transfers to second owners. I'm going to rent an upright bass this weekend. I have one month to learn to play a handful of relatively simple songs on it for a christmas gig. Anybody have any recommendations for tapes? Also, I found out last night that my oatmeal stout has an infection that may make it taste sour. I'm trying to figure out a workaround to save the beer (namely, by bottling early), but it's possible it may be a lost cause and I'll have to dump it all and start over. The holiday pumpkin ale is looking good, though. :) |
2 hours till the Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer goes live.

Your workaround should just be adding a shit-ton of sugar brah
|

Haha. Actually, my plan is to siphon out the beer underneath the infection and taste it. If it tastes okay, I'm going to, prime it, bottle it, and put it in a cold (but not freezing) fridge. My hope is that this will stop the infection from spreading and allow me to carbonate the beer. I really hope I'm not out $50 on this batch. I was hoping to have a nicely-aged oatmeal stout by Christmas. :/ |
Bottle it anyway and give it to tramps for christmas. They probably won't even notice, and you did a good deed.

But then I'm out bottles, and those are the most expensive part of the process. I do like you style, though. :thumb: |
tramps will drink out of empty plastic coke bottles though surely? hah. wrap the
m in brown paper and you're good to go! |

we shut down an entire seaport today. what did you do today? |
What do you have against a seaport?
I went to work to make my money. |

I've always wondered: do you Aussies and New Zealanders typically use this form of the world map?

'Merica. :chug:
the correct term is "Murka", Joe. Or at least it is to all non-Murkans. But I absolutely love this post and agree with it 100%, even if the Buy American clause will fuck us somewhat re: infrastructure projects. But hey. I'm with ya Sir. :chug: |
