I've been posting here a while. I was here a few motnhs before all the regs Ben talks about left. Like Taste My Scythe, Necronomicon, IHeartSP, Shattered Future etc.
i think i started posting regularly when AYDY was released and/or before i've seen them live - though i rather think it was september/october 2005 when i started to be a reg here.
before i posted some things from time to time but not often.

i still remember a short time when Shattered Future, Taste My Scythe, IHeartSP posted every day....

Not much. Turned in chad. Listend to lots of music. Dl the new slayer album and it's not very good. I liked it at first, but on the 2nd listen through, it reallllly bored me. Just installed CS 1.6 and I might play some tonight or tomorrow.

You?

repcak 07-25-2006 05:54 AM

i don't listen music at home, cause all my music is in vienna and i have a downloadlimit on this computer. i only have some 20cds here at home, thats all - and i forgot my behemoth cd in vienna ... aaaarrrhg :upset:

and now i have to do some work for my parents.

repcak 07-26-2006 06:46 AM

JUHUUUUU

my guitar-shop just called me and my Jackson DXMG arrived. this mean that i will travel to vienna today evening or tomorrow to buy it :D

any suggestions what i should play to test it?! ;)

Mother 07-26-2006 06:52 AM

Some pantera \m/

repcak 07-26-2006 07:45 AM

no i can't play any pantera song... never learnt one.

i thought
1) chromatics
2) sypmphony X - inferno (unleash the fire) intro
3) some random riffs (MoP included at my worst  )
4) mozart part at the end of towards dead end by cob
5) some random licks (sweeps, some picking exercises, etc.)

MRDuCran 07-26-2006 07:48 AM

Playing in a guitar shop isn't about showing off to little kids or the people that work there. Play something that you're comfortable with, even if it is a few blues licks.

Mother 07-26-2006 07:54 AM

Play some song with Harmonics, Squeals, Dive bombs etc ... Like I mean test the guitar as much as you can

repcak 07-26-2006 08:12 AM

yeah i know... probably i will just look at the guitar for 5minutes from different angles, then touch the neck and try to feel it... play some chords to see how the sound is and then play some licks to see how it will sound when playing a solo.

too bad that i hurt my hand yesterday a little bit... i haven't warmed up and stretched my fingers too far...

edit:
@Mother: i've never seen you on the R&M-board. did you had a different name before?

Mother 07-26-2006 08:57 AM

No .. I post here a bit, But not so much.

Shadows Within 07-26-2006 09:08 AM

Lol when I go into a guitar shop I get on the keys and play the chessiest 80's songs I know, every time my old teacher is in lessons ill play the final countdown and piss him off (while he's teaching someone) and evey time he comes out he will start humming it :p

Or i'll play Sombody's Watching Me

MRDuCran 07-26-2006 09:13 AM

I remember covering Jump by Van Halen back in college and having this guy come in and moan at us 'cause he hates the song, the Final Countdown too aswell actually.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-26-2006 09:21 AM

Anyone who hates Jump is a fag.

MRDuCran 07-26-2006 09:54 AM

Yeah, you can't hate Jump, it's a classic.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-26-2006 09:58 AM

Definitely.

Super Wotan 07-26-2006 10:02 AM

Van Halen is pretty kick ass in general. I don't care what anyone says, they are fun as hell to listen to.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-26-2006 10:04 AM

Speaking of fun, I've been listening to loads of Hanoi Rocks lately.

Super Wotan 07-26-2006 10:08 AM

I've been listening to Minor Threat a lot, and some other assorted punk/hardcore lately. So much fun.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-26-2006 10:08 AM

Cro-Mags?

here comes the bird flu 07-26-2006 01:01 PM

Great guitar, I like David Lee Roth's vox.

hellrider 07-26-2006 01:06 PM

ive only heard one children of bodom song which was lake of bodom any other good ones

MRDuCran 07-26-2006 01:46 PM

If you like Lake Bodom, go get the Follow the Reaper album.

Super Wotan 07-26-2006 01:47 PM
Cro-Mags?
Negative.

Shadows 07-26-2006 01:49 PM

You fool! Only Hatebreeder can quench his thirst for neoclassical power metal!

MRDuCran 07-26-2006 01:51 PM
You fool! Only Hatebreeder can quench his thirst for neoclassical power metal!
Eh, either one will do fine.

pate 07-26-2006 01:51 PM
Eh, either one will do fine.
Agreed. They're both great.

Shadows 07-26-2006 01:52 PM

Except Follow the Reaper isn't really neoclassical. =\

IheartSP 07-26-2006 01:54 PM
Except Follow the Reaper isn't really neoclassical. =\
Yeah I agree, only the title track and Kissing the Shadows have any neoclassical riffs, while Hatebreeder has one in almost every song.

MRDuCran 07-26-2006 01:55 PM

Oh who cares what it is.

Is it awesome?
Does it kick ***?

Indeed.

Shadows 07-26-2006 01:55 PM

That's the only thing I miss from Follow the Reaper. Solos like the end shredgasm of Towards Dead End with the neoclassical tapping licks are totally fucking sweet. I wish they would bring those back.

IheartSP 07-26-2006 01:59 PM

Yeah if you ask Alexi he'd probably deny he even knows what Power Metal is...

blue3 07-26-2006 02:00 PM
Great guitar, I like David Lee Roth's vox.
Too bad I saw Van Halen with Sammy Hagar singing.

Shattered_Future 07-26-2006 02:12 PM
You fool! Only Hatebreeder can quench his thirst for neoclassical power metal!
Pity Hatebreeder sucks balls though.

pate 07-26-2006 02:14 PM
Yeah if you ask Alexi he'd probably deny he even knows what Power Metal is...
I don't think he does know what it is. Have you guys heard about the new Guitar World mag?

He says "We're just metal. We're not black metal, we're not death metal, we're not thrash. Just don't call us power metal."

IheartSP 07-26-2006 02:17 PM

Yeah he denies Bodom's past, especially Something Wild. I think he accidentally wrote Something Wild and Hatebreeder while trying to write a Punk album and said what the hell I'll release it anyway.

Either that or he had great taste in music then one day a coconut fell on his head and ever since he forgot what good Metal was.

Super Wotan 07-26-2006 02:17 PM

Hatebreeder is best of those two. SW = overall best though.

To set you guys all on track/be a genre jerk, none of their albums are Neo-Classical :p

pate 07-26-2006 02:18 PM
This is true.
