I love Fade to Blacks lyrics.
fade to black is a good song, the lyrics are ok and the sound is cool.

6stringslinger 03-06-2005 12:24 PM

Mcgovney was the bassist until Lars and James went to some bar and heard Burton playing with some other band and they were awed by his bass playing.

Enter Burton
Exit Mcgovney
I beleive it was Ron McGovney... Or was it DeeDee?
The very first lineup was lars at drums and james at guitar, vocals, and bass (that was for a really short period)
Than ron mcgoveney took bass and dave mustaine took lead guitar. Than after they booted dave, kirk came and after they booted ron, cliff came. Cliff got smushed and Jason Newstead took up bass. A while ago, jason left and metallica's producer, bob rock took up bass and did most of saint anger. Not even a year after bob, ozzy's ex-bassist, Robert trujillo (one good mother-plucker) joined and so today, the lineup is

Vocals/Guitar: James Hetfield
Lead Guitar: Kirk Hammett
Bass: Robert Trujillo
Drums: Lars Ulrich

Did Zakath say you can steal his avatar?

Chu 03-06-2005 01:20 PM

I'm pretty sure Mustaine was in Metallica with Cliff.

RiceMonster 03-06-2005 01:24 PM
I'm pretty sure Mustaine was in Metallica with Cliff.
You're correct. Cliff joined before Dave got the boot.

Chu 03-06-2005 01:28 PM

Which would mean, what MA5TERofPUPPET5 posted is not really correct.

Edit: So to this:
I'm a met nerd
I say, go find more sites and read up more, you hardly qualify as a nerd.

Was anyone here lucky enough to see Dyers Eve live? I did, and it blew everything else away. Incredible.

vashts80 03-06-2005 02:14 PM

I haven't actually seen it, but I have the soundboard audience version of the LA show on 3/5 when they played it for the first time in it's entirety. The crowd went absolutely ballistic.

SKoRioN 03-06-2005 02:30 PM

I've only really known abou Metallica for a few months and they're already probably my favourite band. I'm going to get some of their albums but I want to see some live performances.
What would you guys recomend me looking out for ?

Thx in advance.

Deth 03-06-2005 02:31 PM

It was like the 4th time on the tour they played it but it was insane. This was on 11/6 btw, 6/11 if your in Britain.

Get the first four albums (Kill em' all, ride the lightning, master of puppets, ...and justice for all) they're the best metallica albums , and get the black album too, but definately try to get LIVE ****: BINGE AND PURGE

SKoRioN 03-06-2005 03:54 PM

Cheers, I'll have a look into them.
I need to get a part time job. Maybe once my GCSE's are over I'll try get one and get some money in, then I'll try get a few of them.
Until then I'll scrounge as much money as I can from around here...

i personally think that website sucks...there are sites with a TON of more information on metallica than it (www.metallicaworld.co.uk)

i think that metallica.com would be really kickass if the actual band themselves made it

The B 03-06-2005 06:19 PM

So what site has the most info on it than that one?

Keep Bassin'!!!

sg_sacrifice 03-06-2005 06:47 PM

This is my list of albums best to worst, imo:

Ride the Lightning
...And Justice for All
Master of Puppets
Black Album
Kill Em' All
Reload
Load
Garage Inc
St. Anger

That's a tough topic for me to comment on. Master of Puppets is the best IMO, but then AJFA, RTL and KEA are very hard for me to pick one over the other.

hammet_ownz 03-06-2005 07:17 PM

do you mean like the music or the producing?

sg_sacrifice 03-06-2005 07:33 PM

I meant the music

the_abused 03-06-2005 07:43 PM

Its stilla hard topic wether your doing producing or music

METALLICA KICKS A** ANYWAY

Hammerheart 03-06-2005 07:45 PM

Kill Em' All
