Doesn't he go by that on a few albums?
So he changes his name album to album? Every time I have seen the bandmates listed he is listed as Kristoffer Rygg.

Dr. Jake Destructo 02-12-2006 11:14 PM

He has like a million alter egos, so it's better just refer to him as Garm. It's the shortest, and it's pretty cool.

Shadows 02-12-2006 11:16 PM

Kristoffer would be his real name.

Good evening everyone. It's been nearly five days and I still feel like pure ****. :( No school for me tomarrow at least. The worst part is that I've barely touched my guitar in all this time. :suicide:

Yeah, I like the Norse mythology bent to it. It's such a black metal name when you consider the most obvious potential source of inspiration for it.

Could this be a case of RMOTM fever?

Leper 02-13-2006 01:04 AM

Well I was going to add that if you replied yes, then it would be the first case I've heard of, and we might have a new epidemic on our hands.

Shadows 02-13-2006 01:06 AM

I don't think I have it so there's no need to strain ourselves for a vaccine.

And where's my big avatar?

PinkFreud 02-13-2006 01:14 AM

ugh. i'm still working through my rateyourmusic construction. i'm now on #736 and i just hit the j's. slow work when i have to add my bootlegs.

Leper 02-13-2006 01:20 AM

Oh thank god. Let us never speak of the RMOTM fever again.

I was ill like that a week or so ago. It made me sad because when I went to play guitar, I just couldn't and had to put it back down again.

kurrpt 02-13-2006 07:57 AM

I gave my friend 2 guitar pedals to sell on ebay for me (flanger, tube screamer). I was gonna use the money to fix up my Mark IV amp head, but my girl wants me to get another guitar

never thought id hear her request such a thing
We were at a party, and me and my boys (black friends) and my buddies (friends of any other race or ethnicities) can be pretty big assholes especially if we're drunk.

So a little into it this gigantic fat chick walks (or waddles, rather) in and I just nudge my buddy Fargo (note: Fargo is a short guy so he's a bit of a wiseass) and say something like, "Goddamn, push it back in the ocean" and he takes that whole thing and runs with it and narrates everything she does in a British accent as if it was some d0cumentary about whales (ie, at one point she went over to a group of people and started talking, he was like, "When the whale tries to become a social creature, she finds that most in the animal kingdom would rather not be in her company") and since I'm laughing at everything he's saying I'm only encouraging him.

Also, the more we drank and socialized, he would get louder and more and more people would start laughing at what he was saying.

So then she backed up to let someone else pass her and he went, "BEEEEP BEEEEP BEEEP" (like the sound trucks make when they are backing up).

Unfortunately for him, she heard him. She points right at him and was like, "YOU'RE the one who's been making fun of me!" and then half-charges at him and ends up shoving him so far he goes flying back, hits a wall, and slides down on his ass. He stumbles up and she comes at him again and kind of smacks him on the head. Just as a note, I'm doubled over on the floor laughing so hard I can barely breathe so I could not help him much at all. So they're both out in the hall and right when things are about to get really ugly one of the fat chick's friends (who was pretty hot) comes out and calms her down.

Also, as a postscript, one of my buddies, in his words, "hooked up with her [the fat chick's friend] like, three times last night".
ahahahaha. I wouldn't be able to take the shame if that happened to me.

What kind of guitar is she expecting you to get? I think if it's her request she should pitch in.

kurrpt 02-13-2006 08:10 AM

she was ovulating

she wanted me to get an amazing deal on a jackson like i did last time (189USD for a DKMGT)

I really want a C7 hellraiser

Ah, ok. Been there, done that (having a crazy ovulating girlfriend).

Well is she going to chip in $188? How much are C7s going for?
I really want a C7 hellraiser
On vacation, I tried a Shecter(sp) C1. It was a realy good guitar. A realy nice one at that too.

kurrpt 02-13-2006 08:23 AM

I used to have a C1-Fr (schecter). I believe they are amazing for the price. I wanted a similar feel to PRS, without the 2500-3500 price tag that my tremonti was.

I recently found out that my Triple Rectifier is acually a custom job from the 1990s. Apparently you cant get a black metal face, with black knobs, and chrome plated bottom.

Yeah, definitely. It was 650 USD$ I think. It played realy well. And the store I go to might start bringing some in...which is cool.

Except I also want to try the LTD EX-400, which I can get for about 550 USD$ I think. Which is a very good price. I'll have to try it out first..

That's pretty awesome, how much was it? I want to get a custom PRS one day. I always thought of Shecter as only an average company, are they really that good?

I've been looking into the $1,000+ Strats lately. Those play beautifully and I want to get a good single coil since all my other guitars aren't.

I like what I've tried from them.

I also liked the fact that the C1 was a fix bridge.

kurrpt 02-13-2006 08:31 AM

i actually got the C1-Fr for 607, after shipping, brand new

The PRS tremonti sig was 2299.00, which is AMAZING considering it was mint from 03'

As far as schecter goes, i was, and still am extremely impressed with their guitars. I gave that C1 to a friend, and I still enjoy playing it when im up at his place.

The necks arent for everyone, but it fits me perfectly.

Joe 02-13-2006 08:32 AM
Yes they are very good. I havnt tried that much but still...

Ah yes. I'm looking them up on Musiciansfriend. The C-1's are really cool looking. I'll have to go by Guitar Center and check one out some time soon, that is whenever we get out of this snow here.

Quick question: Is it me? Or does anyone else here find that a lot of Epiphones play better than a lot of Gibsons?

kurrpt 02-13-2006 08:39 AM

for epis, i personally think they suck ballz compared to the real thing (Gibson). I've tried about 50 Gibsons, and I will say there is a big difference

Joe 02-13-2006 08:40 AM

Intersting. I've tried many Gibson SG's and I find my Epiphone SG is the best that I've played. I haven't played a Gibson Les Paul in years, but I do remember liking it.

Stormrider 02-13-2006 08:41 AM

I've tried a few Les Pauls to see if I like them...but that was because Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth played one :p

They're pretty good. I wouldn't pay the price for them though.
