I just finsihed 'OK Computer'........I liked a few songs, but I don't see myself becoming a Radiohead fanatic.
That's too bad, I find The Bends and OK Computer to be works of genius.

Mr Herb 08-07-2005 08:53 AM

coldplays latest work was worst than their previous, I think theyre just making somewhat cliche songs like their latest ballad Fix You. They are ****ing media whores but o well I like em and I got to admit I really like their bass playing even if its simple ****

The Flabbit Rides High 08-07-2005 08:54 AM

yeah, I quite like Amnesiac. Very inspiring!

TheSubtleArts 08-07-2005 08:59 AM

Im not a fan of Codplay at all really, only one or two songs i like by them.

Syncratic 08-07-2005 09:26 AM
haha yes!!!! you are correct, he does do the exact same drum groove in EVERY song above 140BPM.
I knew it.....it's repetitive as hell, dude........

Futuro 08-07-2005 09:38 AM

ya, it gets REALLY boring, there drummer isnt to talented, so he tends to accent with the piano or guitar....which just leads to repatition because there songs are all middle of the road basic 4/4. Now, there is such thing as technical pop, check out Stings "Ten Summoners Tale" there are some sections that put tool's odd-time usage to shame.

Moses 08-07-2005 10:02 AM

I got that Disectional Tool shirt. The Lateralus one with the spiral logo on the front.

Syncratic 08-07-2005 10:05 AM
I got that Disectional Tool shirt. The Lateralus one with the spiral logo on the front.
I want that shirt as well, my favorite Tool shirt design.

Blizzink 08-07-2005 10:10 AM

I have that one, and I use it as a decoration for my stereo (as it has a light that won't go off at night). I'm afraid of wearing it because i don't want it to look like ****.

A d**k?

Tool hatred in your area?

If you like the band, wear the merchandise (I hate the word merch, if I am posting it, it's not me), don't be ashamed! :thumb:

Mr Herb 08-07-2005 10:14 AM

I have the tool shirt that has a human heart behind the logo, its ace

He doesn't want the shirt to look like **** is what he said.

Syncratic 08-07-2005 10:18 AM

Oh, okay....still, it's cool.......

Trintar_VIII 08-07-2005 10:31 AM

Yeah, that shirt has a nice design on it. I'm listening to Cog for the first time today as well. Not too bad.

Futuro 08-07-2005 10:34 AM

Trintar_VIII 08-07-2005 10:46 AM

Mr Herb 08-07-2005 11:12 AM

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

my bass's 4th string brokkeeeeeeeee. ****!

Kage 08-07-2005 11:13 AM

Buy a new one..?

Moses 08-07-2005 11:27 AM

Bass strings are way more expensive than regular strings.

Syncratic 08-07-2005 11:30 AM

Yeah, probably because of production costs for the strings.

I'm not what you would call 'well-versed' in the area of economics, so don't take my word for it.

BlindWriting 08-07-2005 11:30 AM
I have the tool shirt that has a human heart behind the logo, its ace
I've got the same one.

Mr Herb 08-07-2005 11:31 AM

yeah Ill buy a new but itll have to wait till next week and well I dont like not playing for so long. Plus the string is only 3 months old. dam.

Local shops have good strings, I usually buy the mid price strings, not the cheap ones nor the really pricy ones

blidnwriting: one of the acest shrits ever id say

Kage 08-07-2005 11:32 AM
Bass strings are way more expensive than regular strings.
You've got to do it sometime, though, so now's as good a time as ever.

Wow, really slow conversation today.

Syncratic 08-07-2005 11:35 AM

Okay....what do you think is the hardest Tool song to perform live/cover?

BlindWriting 08-07-2005 11:36 AM

Probably Third Eye, I'd think it would be impossible to replicate that exactly.

Moses 08-07-2005 11:37 AM

Obviously it'd be Third Eye.

/Beaten to the puch.

Mr Herb 08-07-2005 11:38 AM

ticks and leeches Id say, its toguh getting a drummer that can play that, plus you gotta get the screaming down too

edit: third eye actually, i forgot about it

Syncratic 08-07-2005 11:40 AM
Probably Third Eye, I'd think it would be impossible to replicate that exactly.
True...even the band can't get it exactly, so.......

clearvision 08-07-2005 11:41 AM

It's all about the drums, whichever song has the hardest drum part will be the hardest to pull off live. Because Danny is the only real virtuoso in the band. Though some of Maynards lines may be tricky to land, they can be done. The end of push!t and Euglogy's chorus for example. Adam's tone can be nearly impossible to replicate, but to come close isn't too tough.

Moses 08-07-2005 11:42 AM

There's nothing hard about screaming. Maynard just used the wrong technique and had crapped his voice out for three weeks. Also getting a drummer for any Tool song is hard.
