NemesisDivina 10-09-2007 09:01 PM

eh, that's what i meant. i'm still unfamiliar with the ways of the mod

Jom 10-09-2007 10:05 PM

Riva, Jelle, Barkeep, Vince, etc.: I'm wondering if you guys want to re-vamp the rules a bit or not. Let's face it, while Steerpike's threads are still going strong, having an insanely long few posts (not helped with the lack of vBulletin code for URLs) isn't conducive... maybe condensing them down to one or two posts?

Permanent Solution 10-09-2007 10:42 PM

Maybe we should create a thread for important links, lock it and jsut link to that in the rules?

Jom 10-09-2007 10:48 PM

Well, I meant that we could have Riva's traffic light rules in the first post, and then have the important links in the second post. But really, the FA's, FG's, and a majority of the "theme" threads have pretty much died out, so it seems superfluous to have those linked, especially since it breaks the columns due to the lack of URL vBulletin code.

Just my two pennies, that's all =)

Riva 10-10-2007 12:37 AM

Might as well, most of those links are musicianforums ones anyway. And the Rules thread is very tl;dr, yes.

pate 10-10-2007 06:54 AM

The songwriting comp and RMOTM could use updating as well.

PinkFreud 10-10-2007 09:16 AM

You guys can leave my Buckethead FA up though. You know. For science.

OrcDemon666 10-10-2007 09:20 AM

hey uhh... don't mean to interupt guys... I know some of ya, most of ya have mixed feelers aboot me, but I was wonderin' if you would be so kind to let me have a name change... I'm kinda bored with this one, plus it's really, really stupid. :)

gmoneyguy 10-10-2007 09:59 AM

Go to the Site Forums for a name change.

You should have thought about that when you registered your account this month!

What do you want it changed to?

Bartender 10-10-2007 11:45 AM

With less than two hundred posts and having joined only this month, you may as well just register a new account.

pate 10-10-2007 12:11 PM

What I was thinking.

gmoneyguy 10-10-2007 12:19 PM

Maybe we should delete the upload the DU thread completely. Keeping the thread implicates the site as a whole.

Tyler 10-10-2007 01:07 PM

move it to a mod forum or something i dont want to lose posts.

Jom 10-10-2007 02:39 PM
Maybe we should delete the upload the DU thread completely. Keeping the thread implicates the site as a whole.
Not really. The problems were addressed and the site will be fine.

TojesDolan 10-10-2007 02:43 PM

Can someone update me, I'm confused.

LifeInABox 10-10-2007 02:46 PM

I agree with Coke.

gmoneyguy 10-10-2007 02:47 PM

Basically Jrowa received an email from ProgRock Records asking him to stop uploading to the DU.

pate 10-10-2007 02:48 PM

And several other people got the same email.

Angmar 10-10-2007 02:49 PM
Can someone update me, I'm confused.
Some small record label found out that one of the users uploaded one of their bands album and sent it into the queue. Then they sent him an email saying how if he sent it out they might sue him and the rest of us. They talked on and on about how we were stealing from then and how they would contact the RIAA if we kept up the Daily Upload. So yeah, it is shut down.

TojesDolan 10-10-2007 02:50 PM

and how did they find out about the uploads?

:|

f‪ucking snitches.

Angmar 10-10-2007 02:52 PM

I have no idea, I can only hope there isn't a mole in the system >_>

c'mon... all the FA, FG and "theme" thread were classic!! sure, they died, but i still look at them from time to time... for the good old times, you know? :)

btw. i was thinking about making a column... once a month. i already doing this for metalblaze.at and i some of the topics are really good and well disussed. it would be something new and an experiment, but i don't know if i will do it - i just need to think more about it.

btw. the ACCENT-COMP will come next week; i had a lot of work to do last week, so i still haven't got the time, but i haven't forgot it!

I did think about my name, but it was kinda supposed to be stupid and I don't want to register a new account 'cuz I've already registered three to be here and it's just more passwords I have to try and remember... so could ya help me out? Think of it as a "Most Improved Student" Award!

Deth 10-10-2007 04:22 PM

I think you're going to run out of e-mails anyway.

But I think it's still good to link them :(

I agree.

TojesDolan 10-11-2007 10:18 AM

We could keep it as a secret

>.>

gmoneyguy 10-11-2007 10:30 AM

I think should set up an AIM chatroom to continue it, and MX wont be involved.

Permanent Solution 10-11-2007 10:32 AM

If you organize it off site and are not affiliated with this site I don't think that's a problem. The mod team has to look after the interests of the site though.
