The concept of elite metalcore doesn't make sense, and musical quality has nothing to do with it.
Yeah I don't quite get it, I mean, maybe Converge is elite metalcore. I'm gonna listen to some Kiss It Goodbye soon and maybe I'll understand then.

Concubine 04-09-2008 07:29 PM

theres no such thing

I think what we mean is music that is accepted by the pickiest of the picky music critics. Music that the harshest of critics have to respect.

masscows 04-09-2008 08:09 PM

That's not what it means from a metal perspective, though it could mean that in a general sense.

(I'm not claiming to be elite here)

Dimmu Burger 04-09-2008 08:11 PM

Well I wouldn't really know all that much about elite stuff anyways cause I might listen to like 5 bands that people around here think are elite.

Thanks man! I'd rep, but I have to spread first.
Norma Jean's first album is the most generic metalcore on the planet. On the second album they tried to copy Botch and it didn't work because they aren't talented musicians. I have no idea what the third album sounds like.
Disagreed about the first album.

Agreed on the second.

existanceisfutile 04-10-2008 12:38 AM

Architects are makin' another new album this year apparently. they're recording in like July, ****ing excited as. :D (so their offical myspacefanclubshitthing says)

in other news, can't find much more decent metalcore. :( only metalcore stuff i really bother to listen to lately would be centurion, johnny truant and architects. someone got something for me on par?

illpressureurhinges1 04-10-2008 12:39 AM

Probably not. I listen to too much generic metalcore for picky guys to like.

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-10-2008 01:32 AM
Thanks man! Although the Choke link led to something called the Work Ethic EP? Is that right?
Try it, if its not right I still have more

Concubine 04-10-2008 04:06 AM

Work Ethic? by Deadguy? if so, download it

DBlitz 04-10-2008 04:38 AM

Oh, I thought the site just uploaded it and named it something else.

RetiredAt21 04-10-2008 09:03 AM

Deadguy ****ing rules. Fixation On A Coworker is great.

Norma Jean's second album is their only redeeming quality. Yes it's a copy but a fairly good copy with a slight twist.

Their first album is absolute crap.

RetiredAt21 04-10-2008 11:54 AM

I think everything they've done is absolute crap.

illpressureurhinges1 04-10-2008 12:08 PM
