Still Life way better than BWP.

On that bombshell I take my leave.

Goodnight.

Iai 08-06-2005 06:10 PM

I prefer Still Life too.

Futuro 08-06-2005 06:13 PM

Opeth are great musicians, but i cant stand the growling.

BlindWriting 08-06-2005 06:15 PM

I couldn't stand death growls at first either, but now I've come to appreciate them and enjoy them if they're done right. (I.E. a band like Opeth.)

Syncratic 08-06-2005 06:17 PM

The growling doesn't bother me in the least, so.......

Mr Herb 08-06-2005 06:23 PM

I cant stand constant growls or screams, Thats why I dislike most metal :(

Futuro 08-06-2005 06:24 PM

I used to be a big metal fan...hell i started playing guitar because of kerry king, but i just lost the taste to listen to Metal.

I've said it before, but it's like drinking piss until you dont mind the taste..It still sucks, you just cant tell anymore.

I disagree. Listening to it with a more open mind on my part made me realize the technical skill that goes into making them sound like real vocals (not repetitive crap like Cannibal Corpse or stuff like that). Also, sometimes they sounded just plain fucking cool. Blackwater Park is probably my favorite heavy metal album ever.

Syncratic 08-06-2005 08:17 PM

I love it as well....I'm now listening to Grace by Jeff Buckley...Hallelujah was in the movie Shrek...

Anywho, who wants to talk Tool?

paganman7 08-06-2005 08:31 PM

Howdy mates! I've been browsing these boards for quite some time, but I've never taken the initiative to register...until now.

I recently sent Blair an email asking him if he could post something a little more explicit and less, well, cryptic. He's yet to respond (I'm shocked).

At any rate, I can't wait until the album comes out!

Welcome to MX!

Yeah...check around page 500 for a neat theory on the release date.

Mr Herb 08-06-2005 08:34 PM

Dont waste your time on sending Blair emails.

I've been Hearing about them for awhile now,
went to target and circut city today and neither
of them had Opeth and cc hardly knew who they
were...

Order online?

Kage 08-06-2005 11:22 PM

If you like that kind of music, I would definately order it online.

Mr Herb 08-06-2005 11:24 PM

I wish one of this days wed discuss coldplay in here:(:)

Huber 08-06-2005 11:27 PM

I'm not a fan of Coldplay.

BlindWriting 08-06-2005 11:28 PM

How about the Fantomas? They're a pretty kickass band.
I wish one of this days wed discuss coldplay in here:(:)
Coldplay are ok, but they ran out of material halfway through AROBTTH.

Least they admitted they were lucky to get past one album.

Mr. Bungle and fantomas play pretty abstract music, it's difficult to classify. However Mr. Bungle are more song based. Head over to the YSI thread and request some stuff...I would upload but my internet is bieng a fool.

The Flabbit Rides High 08-07-2005 04:54 AM

thanx alot man. on my way.

Rothmans 08-07-2005 07:56 AM

So did anyone like those maynard songs I did post?

Shadius 08-07-2005 08:23 AM

Not at all what I expected. I only got the first track, but he reminds of me the guy from REM, hehe.

Very 80's sounding though, I see why a lot of people wouldn't like it.

Honestly though, I was expecting some underground metal band, or hard rock at least. I'm suprised, and quite pleased actually. Although the recording quality is pretty bad...

Syncratic 08-07-2005 08:29 AM

I think that Coldplay have this formula of using the exact same drumbeat in every one of their faster songs.

Or they just sound alike, I dunno...........

Shadius 08-07-2005 08:32 AM

I always like a couple of songs or so per Coldplay album, their newest one is the least impressive though.

Radiohead or Muse are far superior.

I just finsihed 'OK Computer'........I liked a few songs, but I don't see myself becoming a Radiohead fanatic.
