the only classic stuff i really like is black sabbath.
Same with every other poser in earth. |
i didn't see the simpsons thing.
the only dylan albums i own are blood on the tracks, and slow train coming. for some reason i have only listened to the first song on slow train coming. it kinda came out right when he discovered god or whatever so im assuming that affected his songwriting. i've heard most of his albums though, borrowed them from my guitar teacher. whats saxon?? is it a band or something, that was kind of random and useless. |
I didn't see it :(. And i felt bad so I listened to Blond On Blond :D
|
Highway 61 Revisited is a perfect album to me.
Thats a lot.
yep. we just keep adding bricks to the proverbial wall that is this thread. soon there will be no escaping it. k im trying to find a Dylan song. It's the one that they talked about really early in his interview last night. The interviewer asked him if he could still write lyrics like he used to, and he said no. and then he quoted a song, and then it showed a clip of him performing the song. I wanna know the name of the song, anyone know what it is? |

Whats that tree supposed to be anyway?

My mom is in going to school agin for a different degree, and one of her professors went to summer camp with Bob Dylan. He was talking about how wierd he was, and all the other kids were like creeped out by him. When everyone else was out doing summer camp stuff he'd just stay in the cabin and play guitar.
|
its a bonsai tree. i have one kinda like it, but not as twisty.
ya apparently bob dylan was a big weirdo, but he was brilliant as well. it seems like all the most brilliant people have been a bit crazy. my mom watched that interview too and she couldn't figure him out, shes like "that man has a lot of problems" |

and he said he wrote Blowin in the Wind in about ten minutes. the interview guy asked him how..and hes like "i dunno, those songs seemed to have been written magically. you cant just sit down and come up with stuff like that"
hes right though, i try desperately hard to sit and write a good song, but the only good ones seem to come at about four in the morning when im trying to sleep. then i gotta get up and write them down before i forget them. its even harder when i think of a good song for guitar, cuz then i gotta go get my guitar and play it quietly as not to wake anyone. but its worth it. |

His biggest fans back in the day were kids who were just like him. |

he hates the media. as would i if i were him, everyone is disecting you and your words. i read this interesting interview with him where he said the first few years after his first album, he could go anywhere and no one would notice him, but suddenly one day the fans just started noticing him everywhere and he couldn't go out anymore. poor guy. i really like the song Idiot Wind by him, its one of his lesser known gems since its from the mid seventies. most people just know his sixties stuff. |

As for idiot wind, its one of those songs he refuses to play live, its very visious towards Sara Lowndes (ex-wife) so you could understand why: One day you'll be in the ditch, flies buzzin' around your eyes, Blood on your saddle. The most underratteed song of BOTT is Lily Rosemary and the jack of hearts, the best song about his wife though is on desire, its called Sara |
