i went into the as the roots undo is amazing 5/5 jizz jizz jizz phase a couple of months ago

still love it and i can't wait for their new album

Pete 01-22-2009 01:28 PM

i listened to it a lot when it came out and then not so much for a few years but then i put it on my mp3 about amonth ago and it still holds up

Iluvatar 01-22-2009 01:53 PM

tbh emo and screamo are generally just randomly tagged on bands depending on where they came from and what time period they played

Pete 01-22-2009 02:00 PM

isnt screamo just a way of describing a particularly rambunctious style of emo?

RetiredAt21 01-22-2009 02:13 PM

I Hate Myself rules, **** CTTS.

Pete 01-22-2009 02:27 PM

why do you have to be so black and white about these things

Txus 01-22-2009 02:28 PM

CTTS are good, end of discussion.

thomasj12e34 01-22-2009 06:26 PM

Txus 01-22-2009 07:01 PM
tbh emo and screamo are generally just randomly tagged on bands depending on where they came from and what time period they played
also vocal style and the later period stuff is often heavier

i love the bass in it

my friend told to check out all the early 90's screamo bands, i think im gonna get honeywell next

Iluvatar 01-22-2009 10:48 PM

heroin is pretty cool

whiteminority 01-22-2009 10:50 PM

for real.

Iluvatar 01-22-2009 11:04 PM

ive always really dug mohinder although a couple of their songs are pretty weak

i mention this because i am pretty bored and want to talk about mohinder

pixiesfanyo 01-23-2009 12:00 AM

i have so many mohinder 7"s.

they're good, just ultra fast and kinda hard to latch on to because of that. slower music for some reason works better for me. or at least music with definitive sections.

Iluvatar 01-23-2009 12:07 AM

i found a lp of everything but it didnt have the bonus cd which i mainly wanted. they have some great songs which are all their slower ones. inhuman nature, to satify, and sorta stick together.

they're one of those bands that i can always listen to even when im not in the mood for hardcore.

pixiesfanyo 01-23-2009 12:09 AM

that is true. they are like the minutemen because they are so easy to listen to that is also kinda the problem though.

holy ****. i got this Unruh record. it rules hard. like HHIG stuff.

Iluvatar 01-23-2009 12:13 AM

what is it exactly i looked it up on rym but the only review was by a dude i generally dont agree with that much

botb 01-23-2009 12:16 AM

song owns so hard

the fastness is what makes it so good, imo

for some reason it took me this long of an amount of time of jacking off to faithealer to realize how much they took from mohinder.

hismajestythepope 01-31-2009 10:45 AM

I haven't listened to Gospel in mad, which song is the one where the singer's like

"Hey you, you got a cigarette man?
Now I know you've got one on ya
I've got one, but it's in the back seat
Buried underneath all the rubble"

or whatever

RetiredAt21 01-31-2009 12:34 PM

Jamming some Neil Perry right now.

Moon Flavor 01-31-2009 12:36 PM

edit: mappy that songs A Golden Dawn

RetiredAt21 02-01-2009 10:40 AM

Any of you listen to Cowboys Became Folk Heroes?

iarescientists 02-01-2009 01:21 PM

yeah i never got the big deal about gospel either

i can put them on anytime and enjoy it, but it's never gone beyond that

Moon Flavor 02-01-2009 01:39 PM

The first time I heard Gospel I was like "eh this is pretty decent". But something compelled me to listen more and more and now they're probably in my current top 5.

They just have a certain atmosphere to them that speaks to me (cliche, yeah...). I could totally understand how someone wouldn't think it's that great though.

But their drummer is a great drummer goddammit mappy!

edit: and who jizzes over gospel? I know of maybe 2 MXers that even like them...of course I don't leave R&M ever
