I liked the second half of thier new song better than the first half. I wish the vocals would sound more original though, but overall it was okay.

I clearly remember seeing them twice when the dual solo was spot on. I wish I could ignore this thread, but it bothers me so much that I've seen Trivium 3 times, all 3 great ****ing shows, and all I hear is bad things about them. Uhhhhggggghhh

I remember going into that show a trivium fan. It wasn't like I had some vendetta against them.

I still kinda like Trivium in the studio. AGTTHOT is a good song, and so is PHOTSOYM, but besides that I can't get into them mainly due to the vocals, and it all sounding the same.

Meh, I'm not denying anything. Some of it is objective. I could understand being turned off by the vocals. But aside from the first time I saw them (when there solos were pretty sloppy) the other two times the guitar solos, including the dual in Gunshot sounded fine. I do wish Matt would stop adding random whammy bar squeals out of no where though.

So we can download Detonation at the end of the month! I really like it from the live version at Rock AM, i can really imagine what's it's going to be like in the studio. Really good!

I think it's pretty cool that normal people on a forum like this can talk to a normal guy that plays bass (over AIM) and is in a band called Trivium and then after a few years on the main stage of Download Festival standing next to Metallica. Matt and Corey are sloppy at times, can't really hear the bass too well and Travis always seems to be on top form. Plus, I don't have AIM.

lol I can see why. I'm sure he gets so defensive because there are probably 71326498172346 Trivium haters that add him just to trouble him. And probably 456234563 people that just tell him how they are Trivium's biggest fan etc. That sort of thing can probably get old pretty fast for them. Which is probably why people seem to think hes a complete douche, even though in reality he could be a really nice person.

Paulo a douche? Not even guys. When I met Trivium to have them sign stuff at SOTU Travis and Matt seemed kinda smug which bothered me, but Corey and Paulo were super cool and actually talked to you. Especially Paulo.

When i met them they were great! yes they are a little sloppy live but that's expected. Look at Slayer when they were that age...they were just as sloppy. Metallica sucked at that age. and Dave mustaine...well he pretty much sucked too.

This is a great band. the new album is gonna sound a lot like Metallica...but there really isn't anything wrong with that (in my opinion)

Look at Iron Maiden, at that age they were spactacular live. Look at Black Sabbath they were great to. Their age shouldn't matter, if they can play the parts on the album fine they should be able to transfer that over to live.

I hope that Detonation isn't like the new record, that that song was not a good indication of them. I'd rather listen to a new and unique band, not a crappy Metallica rip-off.
