Oh my.

You guys must download the Amsterdam 1969-09-29 show. It's the first ever live perfomance of Tommy. Not bad quality either.
Wooohoooo Amsterdam :thumb:

pick a different song. WE did Baba already

Dragon_Prince 10-03-2006 03:31 PM

I know but I love that song :'(

but

I'm singing this note because it fits in well with the chords I'm playing

robo2448 10-03-2006 04:14 PM

I don't mess with torrents. I'm just too lazy. I've heard that Amsterdam show though. I've been inspired to listen to it again.

np- Heaven and Hell

This is better than I remembered. Much better quality too. It's almost Leeds, but just not as tight a performance. Entwistle is still owning though.

Edit- Yeah this show is sweet. np- Young Man Blues

robo, how can you be too lazy to use torrents? its a set it and forget it deal. and this site makes it easy. i only had one seeder and still got a 668mb file downloaded in no time :)

robo2448 10-03-2006 05:14 PM

Well lots of the stuff on torrents can be found in mp3. There's still a lot of it that can't, but I can find some stuff. For instance, sugarmegs probably has 15+ Who shows including the Amsterdam one. If I understood how torrents worked, then I'd use them, but they kind of confuse the hell out of me.

Yes but do you have the entire second set? Where they play Tommy?

robo2448 10-03-2006 06:39 PM

Yes, yes I do.
It's a lossless codec that supports tagging. ^_____^

Also: As it turns out, it appears I may be on the floor when the Who roll into town! ^_____^

My friend got 2 floor tickets from an auction for a charity, and his mom said that if it was okay with me and my parents, I could give her my ticket, and take her place on the floor.

:D:D:D
Which row are you at for floor? I hate how there's seats but whatever.. It should still be awesome. 2 DAYS!!

I have no idea. I think he said something like 30, but I'm not sure.

Where are you?

blue3 10-04-2006 12:17 AM

Somewhere up front. Row 3 or 4 or something like that.

Leper 10-04-2006 12:40 AM

They put on a pretty good show tonight. Roger was in good voice, Pete had lots of energy, and the opening act wasn't bad either.

Pete was having some guitar/amp issues. It's funny though how they've been around so long that something like that doesn't even phase them anymore. He just fixed the problem then they picked up right where they left off.

JohnXDoesn't 10-04-2006 12:51 AM

i was reading at the fan site board that pete has been plauged recently with problems with his rig. WTF could that be? the guy is guitarist for The Who and he's having rig probs. someone needs to be fired...

blue3 10-04-2006 12:57 AM

Who was the opening act?

Seafroggys 10-04-2006 01:04 AM

man, I loved John's rig. Seperate stacks for the treble and the bass. You can't get much better then that!

Leper 10-04-2006 01:09 AM
Who was the opening act?
Inward Eye. I'm pretty sure they're from Winnipeg so I doubt they'll be opening for them anywhere else. They were decent though. Entertaining at the very least.

It was funny, after having amp issues a second time, Pete disappeared for a minute and then came back and said, "I just had to tell him (the sound guy I guess) off."

blue3 10-04-2006 01:12 AM

Hah, I hope that doesn't happen.. in TWO DAYS!!

JohnXDoesn't 10-04-2006 09:30 AM

ok those of you going to the next gig, full reports are expected. review, perspepctive, and even a few non-personal pics of the venue, crowd, parking lot, whatever you can get, would also be nice.

jeff, row 30 is pretty damn good. have fun. and if you can't see, stand on your chair. have fun, kick arse, etc...

JohnXDoesn't 10-04-2006 05:45 PM

i've read on the other board the shows are very good. new tunes (make sure to listen to Wire And Glass before you go) old tunes, all Who. the reviews for the shows are good. the singles It's Not Enough and Tea And Theater have come in at my music service and they sound much better then the leaked versions i linked here not long ago. pete has done a good job with producing and mixing. surprisingly modern production. might be the best sounding Who recordings ever. and Its Not Enough does grow on you. also advance word on the album is very good, with a few very positive reviews already in.

i also saw a live performance of Tea And Theater at the fan site from the other night and its very affecting, with just pete and rog performing. they close the entire show with it. it's reflective, relevant, and somewhat touching. i'm sure when you go see them it will be no less.

blue3 10-04-2006 06:33 PM

I downloaded Wire and Glass a few days ago. It's really good.
you bitch
k thx. See you there haha.

BludgeonySteve 10-04-2006 06:39 PM

I'm going to the Who tomorrow! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

blue3 10-04-2006 06:41 PM

Do you have floor tickets as well?

BludgeonySteve 10-04-2006 06:42 PM

Nope. But 4th row.

JohnXDoesn't 10-04-2006 07:12 PM

wow this is great. three MXer's going to the same gig. don't tell the band. they may cancel :(

AnyColour74 10-04-2006 08:36 PM

it was a great show, you guys are going to love it. the only negative was the opening band. they flipped the crowd off at least 8 times, swear to god

JohnXDoesn't 10-04-2006 09:08 PM

flipping the crowd off is a great rock n roll tradition. i'm sure the sentiment was returned :)

I'm leaving for the show in half an hour. And i'm feeling pretty good considering all of the excellent reviews.

blue3 10-05-2006 06:34 PM

That's so early.. I should leave early as well. I'm always usually late and miss the first band.

Broken Arrow 10-05-2006 06:46 PM

You will all love it. I did.

I was really impressed with Wire and Glass live too.

robo2448 10-05-2006 06:57 PM

I am so jealous. Enjoy the show guys.

Lunch 10-05-2006 06:58 PM

I hate you all.

Broken Arrow 10-05-2006 06:59 PM

But peace and love.......:(
