I also love bright eyes, and I have been diggin' the blood brothers a lot today.

dkmaddog 11-25-2004 08:45 PM

I am completely stuck on the Fiery Furnaces right now. The album Blueberry Boat is a must buy. Anybody else into the Fiery Furncaces?

I think Scott Herren's a pretty big fan

But, yeah, Blueberry Boat is amazing. My personal album of the year. Saw them live earlier this year and had them sign a copy for me. Amazing evening getting to chat with Matt and Eleanor.

dkmaddog 11-25-2004 08:50 PM

Yeah, they played at Little Brothers here in Columbus earlier this year and I missed them. I will never forgive myself for that....

Doctor D. 11-25-2004 11:22 PM
Don't you remember the show Salute Your Shorts from Nickelodeon, Doc?

There was a character on it named Pinskey. I think he came in with the second season. The actor who played him is now the lead guitarist in Rilo Kiley.
Yes, I know and remember..."Wha?" is my term of "How awesome"

Tangy zizzle 11-26-2004 01:12 AM

Dig list:

White Stripes
Lightning Bolt
Arlo Guthrie
the song "Goodnight Saigon" by Billy Joel

ans, Hot Snakes have now won themselves a place in my top 5. Good for them!

clown_phobia 11-26-2004 01:14 AM

tell me about modest mouse. please?

Tangy zizzle 11-26-2004 01:24 AM

They're band. They play indie-rock. They've recently struck it big with a song called "float on" which is from their recent album Good news for people who love Bad News.

The Ashtray Girl 11-26-2004 10:53 AM
They're band.
Excuse me? Correct your grammar and phrasing, good sir, that sentence doesn't even make sense.

Tapeworm 11-26-2004 11:00 AM

Tangy digs the Stripes??? woah.

Badmoon 11-26-2004 02:29 PM

I just bought Queens of the Stone Age - R. Great album. From "Better Living through Chemistry" down, each song is fantastic.

Iai 11-26-2004 02:54 PM

Today I mostly enjoyed a mixed bag containing John Lee Hooker, Billie Holiday, The Clash, and DJ Shadow.

Tangy zizzle 11-26-2004 04:39 PM
Tangy digs the Stripes??? woah.
Dude, I love the Stripes. Dunno why you'd think otherwise...?

Iai 11-26-2004 06:20 PM

Because their last album sucked a fat one?

milkandlaxatives 11-26-2004 06:22 PM

Yeah, De Stijl and White Blood Cells were great. I really like Jolene, too.

Elephant, on the other hand, was horrid. Really, really horrid.

YDload 11-26-2004 06:46 PM
Yeah, De Stijl and White Blood Cells were great. I really like Jolene, too.

Horrid enough to be on Rolling Stone's list of top 500 albums of all time?

Man, I hate that magazine.

Tapeworm 11-26-2004 09:10 PM
Dude, I love the Stripes. Dunno why you'd think otherwise...?
Yeah, I was trolleyed last night, everything was a big shock.

I agree completely with Iai. I love the first 3 albums a lot. Elephant is pretty good, but yeah.

milkandlaxatives 11-26-2004 09:32 PM

CrazyLegsMC 11-26-2004 11:00 PM

Carina Round (female rock)
Neutral Milk Hotel (in the airplane over the sea)

Magnet (Check out his cover of Lay Lady Lay, its real nice)

Happymeal 11-26-2004 11:14 PM

I'm really liking Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra's "Hypocrite" right now. I need more stuff like this in my life.

AK47 11-26-2004 11:16 PM

Neutral Milk Hotel. Bitches.

Zappa 11-26-2004 11:33 PM

Shakti.

I'd always written this off as a white guy trying to play brown for very extended periods, but I'm starting to dig it. Neat.

The Ashtray Girl 11-27-2004 06:30 AM

Today I'm digging Handsome Boy Modeling School, most excellent.

Bartender 11-27-2004 08:57 AM

Through the glories of internet radio, I just heard a song by a band called Of Montreal. It was pretty good. Anybody know if they are worth looking into further?

Tomahawk 11-27-2004 10:02 AM

I've been digging Patty Griffin. I hadn't even heard of her before a few days ago, but she's a bit awesome.

And I've been re-digging Missy Higgins.

Iai 11-27-2004 10:54 AM

Iai 11-27-2004 11:46 AM
Through the glories of internet radio, I just heard a song by a band called Of Montreal. It was pretty good. Anybody know if they are worth looking into further?
I know WRM really likes them.

Well_Respected_Man 11-27-2004 05:04 PM

Indeed I do, although they may be a little too poppy at times. The two albums they have worth cheking out are Satanic Panic in The Attic and Gay Parade. Bartender Try the songs "Penelope" and "Spike The Senses" :)

Iai 11-27-2004 05:59 PM

I'm digging on Ulver and Explosions In The Sky right about now.

Well_Respected_Man 11-27-2004 07:24 PM

I just listened to Tago Mago for the first time, it's a weird blob of reverb, delay and strange noises, I'll think I'm going to like it.

Iai 11-27-2004 07:27 PM

Tage Mago is awesome.

Tangy zizzle 11-27-2004 10:24 PM
