"Goodbye Sober Day" by Mr. Bungle is the best fucking song.
i have friends/know people that get blazed pretty much every day
Yeah, I know people like this too. Just grates on me when it's outside my door and I have so little free time, while they get stoned and fuck around for 5 hours on a Monday.
nah I've never heard, like, Joseph Arthur. Should I?
Yes, yes you should. The only way I can describe him is Elliott Smith meets Beck's experimentation.

The Onion AV Club interviews... Maynard?! Yes, they did. Pretty amusing, especially this:
AVC: Do you feel out of touch with your audience?

MJK: For the most part, I have no idea who those people are—especially when we're traveling through Europe. And it's not all our fault; it's a whole series of events. [You play] heavy music, and your record company, which has never owned an album anything like what you're doing, immediately markets you to the obvious stinky kid with the dreadlocks and the B.O. and the urine on his shoes because he's been sleeping in his own filth in a festival in the middle of the rain. They basically market right to that guy. And then you realize the only people showing up to your shows are those primates—these weird, cretin people… Then, let's say you're at a coffee shop, and you've got a friend sitting next to you, and you've been reading some Noam Chomsky, or you're reading The Onion, and you look over and see a bunch of kids [who] look like they could be made of cheese, because there are flies everywhere. And you go, "Hey, you want to go where they're going?" and everybody goes, "**** no." And they're wearing Tool shirts. Why would you want to go there? Why would anybody other than those kids wanna go see Tool if that's our representative in that area? So it ends up being a no-win situation. Of course, that's a completely extreme example.
_Mote_ 11-28-2006 06:32 PM

Maynard is a bastard.

Kayetan 11-28-2006 06:54 PM

I think it's funny.

Reading this is almost the same thing as reading a Thom Yorke interview. Except more references to wine cultivation and less whining.

Zappa 11-28-2006 10:39 PM

Is the whole interview on the net? The Onion Website didn't work for me.

I recorded a Mount Eerie concert last month. Does anybody happen to want it?

holy crap that's in tucson, i had no idea of this ever happening under my nose.

Kayetan 11-28-2006 11:43 PM

Ok, I'll upload it tomorrow I guess. The quality isn't the best, and I just realized I could have made it much better, but I won't because splitting the tracks up and trying to get a better eq was boring as hell and it took forever and I don't want to do it again.

Discuss Karl Blau.

bleep_bloop 11-28-2006 11:45 PM

i dont know though im going to see phil elverum on the 16th do you think i should wait and see the show before?

Electrocution 11-29-2006 04:12 PM

Kayetan 11-29-2006 04:13 PM

Well, the concert isn't really full of surprises or anything, it's just kind of nice. Him with an acoustic guitar and nothing else.

FA 11-29-2006 05:06 PM

Wow, theres nothing I love more than getting on myspace, reading new friend requests and finding out that I really love the music they're making, especially when they're so little known with so little friends. This is one of the bands that just recently added me that I thought was awesome...they're caclled Musee Mecanique and if you're into indie/folk/almost lo-fi baroque poppish, check em out:

So I saw the Borat movie the other day. It was pretty good. That naked wrestling scene was ridiculous.

_Mote_ 11-29-2006 08:39 PM

I really want to see Borat, it looks amazing.

It was also really awkward knowing that.

was there plenty of former soviet union penis action

Yeah seriously I was in stitches by that point. And then watching those security guards beat the crap out of them was even funnier.

br3ad_man 11-29-2006 08:51 PM

Yeah, that part was pretty hysterical.

asdf 11-29-2006 08:53 PM

The best part of the naked wrestling had to be the scene in the elevator.

Little Man being Erased 11-29-2006 08:55 PM

When the camera turns to that other guy that was still in there after everyone else has left.
