They're usually right when I look around, but sometimes I'll see some things that are incredibly far from what the band actually is.
Ah. Well, it's understandable, since it's a user edited site. They probably get people who know nothing editing the band pages often. |
---> Trivium
ROFL! They're neither thrash or metalcore! |
Trivium is one.
They're good ol' metal. I don't see the -core, but then again people seem to say that every metal band has -core in them in recent times. |
ROFL!
They're neither thrash or metalcore!
Sure they're metalcore, what else are they? |
Once more, what about Naglfar?!
One more time maybe? |
What about Naglfar?
|
Sure they're metalcore, what else are they?
They consider themselves Thrash, but I think they are more like metalcore. Didn't they call themselves Iron Maiden on steriods or the next Metallica? If so  |
I've never heard a trivium song recorded, but I saw them live and all I could hear was "Chugga chug chugga chug" ad nauseum. And the vocalist going "Blaaah, blaaah" metalcore style.
|
Man....I really want that limited edition Opeth shirt with the upsidown cross on it.....
EDIT: Superpeer, Trivium are a very bad representation of metalcore. |
What about Naglfar?!
I said best, not only. |
I didn't know chugging was a defining aspect of metalcore. Their music has very little chugging anyway, so it doesn't matter.
I'veheard they're very full of themselves. Heafy is also very annoying live. |
Woah, looks like I've missed a lot. 307 and Jom have been undertaken by tehchad
|
If you want good metalcore: Converge, all else failed, coalesce, turmoil and so on...
|
I don't see the need to debate if Trivium are metal, thrash, metalcore, etc. Arguing about good bands is a far better waste of time.
|
Sure they're metalcore, what else are they?
Anything but metalcore, show me the hardcore influence in that band, aside from like 2 songs off of Ember to Inferno and I'll buy you iceccream. |
I don't see the need to debate if Trivium are metal, thrash, metalcore, etc. Arguing about good bands is a far better waste of time.
 pwn3d I get very easily irritated by the over-scrutinizing of modern metal bands. People are seeing metalcore in everything lately and I hate it. Anyhoo, me listens to some seet Behemoth! |
I don't see the need to debate if Trivium are metal, thrash, metalcore, etc. Arguing about good bands is a far better waste of time.
It's annoying though, none of that stuff sounds like hardcore at all, yet everybody calls it metalcore, and even more recently just hardcore.... hardcore is stuff like Kill Your Idols or Carpenter Ant, and Metalcore is stuff like Converge or Sounding the Seventh Trumpet-era Avenged Sevenfold. |
Let's discuss... uh... What about... That beatle that died some time ago.
My satan chem teacher asked a bunch of gay kids to play covers of them at school on Thursday. and THe bastard didn't tell me. I suppose I'm too mediocre. :( |
They consider themselves Thrash, but I think they are more like metalcore.
Didn't they call themselves Iron Maiden on steriods or the next Metallica? If so
Yeah, he couldn't help but mention that before every song. "We're gonna play a thrash metal song!"
EDIT: Superpeer, Trivium are a very bad representation of metalcore.
I know.
I'veheard they're very full of themselves. Heafy is also very annoying live.
He is.
I don't see the need to debate if Trivium are metal, thrash, metalcore, etc. Arguing about good bands is a far better waste of time.
True, they suck.
Anything but metalcore, show me the hardcore influence in that band, aside from like 2 songs off of Ember to Inferno and I'll buy you iceccream.
None of the bands that are called metalcore nowadays have hardcore influence. None of them sound like minor threat and the like, so yeah. They sounded like all the other metalcore bands I've heard. Typical riffing, drumming, vocals and clothing. ;) Anyway, they're rubbish. |
They're catchy rubbish!
If only they got rid of Matt's vocals... |
Or Matt all together. That guy irritates me in every way possible for some reason.
|
Or Matt all together. That guy irritates me in every way possible for some reason.
Yeah, but he writes some catchy riffs. |
Or Matt all together. That guy irritates me in every way possible for some reason.
The attitude, probably. |
Yeah, but he writes some catchy riffs.
I agree, the riffs are catchy on a few song. The band overall isn't that bad, but they need a new vocalist. |
Nah they seem to old-school, addapted-for-Dropped-D to me, the riffs of Matt, if you know what I mean.
But "pull harder the strings of your martyr" is awesome. |
The attitude, probably.
Probably. I also find his riffs to be extemely recycled. |
I agree, the riffs are catchy on a few song. The band overall isn't that bad, but they need a new vocalist.
I was quite annoyed by the solos in the songs I heard, actually. |
The solos are pretty "LOL LETS SHRED" and then they just go nowhere, but the main riffs in songs like Like Lights to Flies, Pull Harder..., A Gunshot to the Head of Repedition, and Pillars of Serpents are really good IMO.
