I'm planning on buying a Paiste 2002 16" Crash. What is your opinion on the 2002 crashes?
|
a very versatile crash....along the line of an A or AA Medium Crash
|
I need a very versatile ride. Any brand. Needs to be able to project loud when needed. Crashable. Needs to be able to suit jazz, rock, and metal. I know there isn't any ride really like this but, any ideas would be great.
|
there sure is: 21" AA Medium Ride
|
I will look into that. I was considering a 21" A Custom Medium Ride or Projection Ride, also. Thoughts?
Just because I kind of lean towards Zildjians other cymbals... crashes, hats, ect. because, I guess I just haven't really found any Sabian hi-hats or crashes I really enjoy and Paiste is just too expensive and it's always nicer to find everything you want under the same brand, ha. But, it isn't a must. Also, it really doesn't have to suit jazz all that much. I just like playing jazz on my own time. But, i'm more intrested in a ride that can play from pop-rock to metal because, those are the kind of bands I play in. ANYWAYSSSS! BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH. Insight is appreciated. |

I own the 2002 18'' crash and the 2002 18'' power crash...the only cymbals I've heard that have made me switch out my Paiste Signaturre crashes for those...and thats saying alot...buy it...now! |

i noticed you said crashable, the AAX stage rides have a good crash sound for a ride, theyr pretty good, the only setback is that they have a smaller bell, so if u use ur bell on the ride a lot, you might want to stay away from this one, thers prolly betr options out ther but i just know about this one cuz i got a stage ride |

yea curse the freakin small bell :( . its a great ride though. |
actually, if you want to crash, a bigger bell is the way to go.

I'm looking for 2 chinas, one 14 and one 18 both quick and fairly trashy. Sabian preferred.
|
Would you guys suggest an 18" AAX Dark Crash for a Crash to ride with? I'm looking to replace my Z Custom 18" Projection which I sometimes ride on.
18inch AA chinese. its great. |
Sorry if this is the wrong place but since this is a cymbal thread so i guess this could be a good place to put it, rather than buying proper cymbal polish would it work just aswell if i just used mr muscle or something along those lines?
Also paiste cymbal cleaner would work just aswell on things like sabian and zildjian wouldnt it? |

Queen anne's revenge- 14"- look in to the HHX Evolution Mini or the AAX Mini
18"- AA China, AA Metal-X, AAX China, are good ones if you want one really trashy look in to the wuhan series and the AAXTreme chinas. |
Sup guys, i am looking into getting atleast one more crash, a china and another ride
anyways, my next crash is going to be a Sabian (probably an AAX?), i like Sabian crashes. however im not such a big fan of their Rides, so this is where the great MX community comes into play. i'm looking for a Ride that doesnt have a long long ring like my Sabian B8 ride does...im looking for a trashy, metal kind of sound, im not really a big brand name whore, so feel free to throw out any companies names. and as for the China, well i am totally lost on china's, im simply looking for a metal sounding china, any recomendations? |
a trashy ride? wont find one that suits metal needs man.
20" AA Rock ride would be my suggestion as for the china, sounds like you want a 20" Wuhan |
well how bout this, is there any Ride's that anyone knows of that has nice projection, but not a long ringing sound?...its just the ringing annoys the hell outta me...
|
well, given the fact that your looking for a large cymbal, it WILL ring.
the best you can do is pick out a heavy, small bell ride my AAX Dry ride is heavy, and small belled. |

hh raw bell ride |
I'm heading up to Guitar Center tommorow to get either some A customs or K's i still havent decided but has anyone ever talked GC into throwing in a stand for free?
|
I haven't heard of many places throwing in free stands, and if they are free, they are usally low quality crap stands.
|
hi, i'm new to these parts and fairly new to drumming in general, but i would like to purchase some cymbals as i i have been given a new kit and my old cymbals are v. poor quality. i am looking for, perhaps a cymbal set for under £100 i think it's probably out of pearl, solar, paiste 101 and stagg but some guidence would be muchly appreciated

youre gonna have to extend the budget if you want at least an ok quality. pearl cymbals=crap. solar=crap. 101=crap. all the ones you listed aevery poor quality. |

Yeah b8s are actually not too bad
