Well you can blame Greg Ginn and his weed smoking pals with signing just about any band that they saw. Opal was pretty cool and was one of the bands that showed the diversity that was on the label.

Mudvayne's first album was really good for a nu-metal band, but they have slowly deteriorated into just another buncha whiners (and one good bassist).
