Supersilent - 7
Had my girlfriend watch some of it tonight, and she really appreciated it. I think the addition of visuals really adds to the emotion of the experience - seeing how visceral and sincere it is in performance. It was her first time hearing their music; I'm so proud. |
^ I liked 6 by the way.
Not incredible, but a solid release. |

Double Nickels isn't perfect. Pink Flag is intensely perfect, one of the few. Oh, and so is OK Computer.
|
Talking Heads - Remain in Light
The best album ever!
I'll drink to that. |
Alex, OK Computer isn't perfect.
Let's be honest. |
I'd love someone to actually point out an imperfection in OK Computer to me.
Anything other than 'It's become hip to not like it' would be fine. |
You can't be a real indie kid if you like Ok Computer, duh.
|
End sucks.
Fitterhappier. |
I like Fitter Happier because it drains your energy and then BAM Electioneering comes in and you're back into it.
|
oh yeah.
Electioneering doesn't fit on the album at all too. |
"The Tourist" is one of my favourite final tracks on an album, and "Lucky" flat-out rules. And claiming "Fitter Happier" doesn't work is like saying Trainspotting would be better without the monologue at the beginning.
And without the pairing of "Fitter Happier" and "Electioneering" the album wouldn't have the ballast it does. They're needed to inject power into it. Without them, "Climbing Up The Walls" could have felt like a dirge. With them, it's the best thing Radiohead have ever done. |
What?
The monologue at the beginning Trainspotting, isn't a computer voice talking over noise scapes. You have the bad ass end of Karma Police, and then it's ruined by Fittier Happier's self indulgence. Also Lucky and The Tourist are just boring and too much like the beginning of the record. |
You actually think "The Tourist" and "Lucky" sound like "Airbag" and "Paranoid Android"? Are you serious?
|
more like Exit Music and Subterranean
|
Electioneering is one of the best songs on the album. too bad it doesnt fit with the others.
|
airbag's drum beat makes the song
|
I'm not getting into any argument about the record as a whole, but 'm standing up on this one... Let Down is the best song on the album, plain and simple.
|
I think Exit Music is really emotional.
|
Oh, dang.
REAL EMOTION: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddquVvGxTS8 |
heart of glass is an awesome song
|
Well the lead singer from Blondie is in the movie Videodrome.
|
Videodrome is a great movie
|
Very true. One of the best ever made in my opinion.
|
Heart of Glass is fine and all but Blondie is kind of lame most of the time
/downloads Police albums |
Parallel Lines is a fantastic album.
|
Actually screw that
/gets Police greatest hits If I can have Message in a Bottle and Wrapped Around Your Finger on the same album then I will dammit |
Is Vol. 3 any good because this always sounds awesome
Big pimpin, spendin cheese Big pimpin, on B.L.A.D.'s Big pimpin in P.A.T. It's just that Jigga Man, Pimp C, and B-U-N B Smokin out, throwin up, keepin lean up in my cup All my car got leather and wood, in my hood we call it buck Everybody wanna ball, holla at broads at the mall If he up, watch him fall, nigga I can't fuck witch'all |
Prosaics - Aghast Agape EP
Scorch Trio - Luggumt |
Eh I hear it's crappy (Vol. 3)
The lyrics for Wrapped Around Your Finger are so stupid but the chorus is godly |
None of the volumes are that good. I always liked Vol 2 just because it's the one I got when I first started getting into rap.
|
I don't get the hype with Reasonable Doubt. People putting it on the level of Illmatic and Ready To Die is a joke.
|
Jesu - Silver
Swans - Children of God |
Illmatic is my second favorite rap album ever. The cliche number one goes to Public Enemy's ITANOMTHUB.
|
"All Lies" is a standout Nomeansno song off of Wrong.
|
good selections.
yeah I am not a Public Enemy fan at all.
Why not, I really like Chuck's flow. It's not about speed or aggressiveness for me, and he has amazing lyrics. |
Ready To Die sits very comfortably in my top 5 rap records ever, along with the two obvious PE albums, Doggystyle, and The Marshall Mathers LP.
Being white is fun. |
I haven't heard that. I don't like much later PE, but damn, the early stuff is great.
EDIT: Bomb Squad I mean. |
I'm not a fan of Public Enemy either.
"All Lies" is a standout Nomeansno song off of Wrong.
The whole album rules. |
I haven't heard that. I don't like much later PE, but damn, the early stuff is great.
EDIT: Bomb Squad I mean.
The Bomb Squad were PE's production team up until Apocalypse '91. So all the stuff you like is Bomb Squad-produced. |
