Blaze and Paul are both the best at the songs they do and they fit the songs to their ability, i doubt the badn would have written a song in Virtual XI that would be suited to Paul or Bruce's voice and vice versa. Bruce does a pretty good job of singing Paul's and Blaze's songs though but he is probably more felxible than either of them.
Regarding Paul vs Blaze:
Paul sung those first two albums better then Blaze would have, but Blaze sung his two albums better then Paul would have. Is that fair to them?
I agree, but in my honest oppinion i would choose paul over blaze anyday though. Maybe it was the music, but i still think Paul>Blaze. oh and i also would like the all star tribute cd: dr_homely@hotmail.com |
Look we have this debate every so often, and something always sparks it off again.
We all know each other's opinions by now! |

oh and i also would like the all star tribute cd: dr_homely@hotmail.com
I'd say Paul era Maiden > Blaze era Maiden. I have to say that Bruce seems to do everything well. The Clansman and Sign Of The Cross are both highlights from RiR for me, and he handled all of Paul's stuff really well when I saw them at Reading. |
They're both good, we all know that ollie is a paul fanboy :p
|
bah, Brucey>Blazey>Pauly
|
i like them all, but Bruce = teh pwn :p. anyway, where've you been Crag? i was nearly past you in postcount in this thread :(

I don't quite know... |
perhaps its there to spread the word of Maiden
|
well yeh, but still...
i want a massive lorry with maiden pictures all over it when i'm older, simply because it would be cool. |
Here's my bass part for The Trooper. It's quite quiet though, I couldn't fix it.

http://s31.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0NG7BQIVK42OW1MXZKLZFB7H34
thanks, it sounds loud enough to me, but if it becomes too quiet when the guitars and vocals are added i should be able to fix it:) |
bah, Brucey>Blazey>Pauly
exactly my opinion, thank you EDIT: I guess great minds think alike :thumb: |

I agree, Paul is good and all, but I always feel that there first album isn't as good as it could be. Killers is better, though. So, can anyone tell me who's on this All Star Tribute to Iron Maiden CD? |
lots of people, from a lot of bands, on lots of instruments. like Lemmy and Phil from Motorhead, Ripper Owens from Judas Priest / Iced Earth (who, IMO, sounds very Dio-ish when doing Flight of Icarus), 3 guys from Anthrax on different songs. it's good.
|
Lemmy and Phil=pure awesome.
Good example :chug: |
I'm going to buy a Maiden van and fill it with Girls and alcohol.

mmm...that would be great. no-one would suspect it was a shag-wagon, if it was properly sound-proofed and didn't rock... |

that would be the perfect van:) |
and with that discussion, the thread died :p. meh, i discovered the other day that The Fallen Angel is an awesome driving song.
|
I love The Fallen Angel. It's so much fun on guitar.
Especially that 6 note riff that comes in half way through the pre-chorus and at the end of the intro. |

Awww... It makes me all soft inside when I see NWOBHM bands paying tributes to each other decades later (and still playing). |

I wish i could drive then i could pull up beside those arseholes with dance and rap in their cars with Maiden blasting out:) |

That is cool. It's much funnier with Beethoven or Mozart though (but not Bach...) Especially if you have a very "bling" car. |
